Hardware unboxed, 8% faster than 3080. I think nvidia want to see if they can break the internet using just the letters L and O.

I chickened out - I just couldn't justify spending this much on a GPU - will keep looking for a 3080 FE card, but I'm not getting up at 5am tomorrow either. :)

Roll on 3090Ti/Super in 12months on mature process may even be 7nm with more than 115% Power Limit esp as it runs so cool now (15%+X%=X%), hope for total of 25+%

Tech Jesus is not impressed, to say the least.

That's because its marketed for gaming but its not for gaming. Anyone buying this for gaming is just monumentally wasting their money, its 7% faster than a RTX 3080 in 1440p gaming at double the price. Its 10% faster at 4K for twice the price. Its cost per frame is almost as bad as the RTX 2080Ti and worse than the Radeon VII. Low and behold, its cost per frame is twice that of the RTX 3080.

Yet people will still buy it.....

Guys how are you?

I have 2 options here in Brazil to get the 3090

Can you help me choose one?

Asus NVIDIA TUF RTX 3090, 24GB, GDDR6X - 90YV0FD1-M0NM00

EVGA NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090, 24GB, GDDR6X - 24G-P5-3975-KR

Thanks

At what power and cost? I really don't see where they would increase performance without wrecking TDP even more.

Like past gens at least 120% and let partners decide if they want to do 130-140% like EVGA did via new Bioses after launch and that was not just Aftermarket coolers but Ref coolers (as this was before the FE cards).

Who cares about TDP the way some think of how it works is meaningless (do not move slider to right in that case)

Just had a quick look on a competitors site and 30 minutes after launch there are currently 545 checking out on just one make alone! Wow Nvidia have sold a lot of 3090 cards.

Look at the difference between the founders 3080 and the aftermarket ones, then tell me where they will find 20% let alone 30-40% on a 3090? The 3090 FE has a cooler the size of a small country on it, I can't see aftermarket doing much better.

It's funny how TDP mattered when AMD were having issues but now Nvidia are and it doesn't matter at all now.

I am not posting in a thread about the 3080 so that is a moot point, it was obviously before launch the 3090 FE would be cooler by its massive size.

FYI - The 3090 Strix OC review is already out. The chip is at its limits even with a 490W power-limit.

The 99th % scores are brutal - the 3090 is a bit of a dud for gaming. The 3080 is absolutely worth it.

I am not saying otherwise, simply that aftermarket models are not really improving much on the FE version, Zotac are actually performing below it.
