Surprised you didn't get an answer of this.

My first question would be why would you be looking for a manual for a car like this?

I don't have experience with the car and I don't think there any many owners on this forum

Say’s a lot....

What says a lot? That you gave the members of a predominantly computer based forum less than 24 hours to respond to a very bland, 8 year old design Audi, or, the lack of response tells you that in fact there is very little to worry about?

And yes, I have an S6. Don't get a 2014 model, get a facelift variant (2015) onwards, but be prepared for an incredibly technologically poor, dated user experience, in an otherwise very well built, capable car.

Because it's cheap, this was the cheapest A6 you could get and consequently there are quite a few cheap ones on autotrader now they are getting older.

I have had the pleasure of your aggressively superior perspective before. Your intonation suggests that I am looking for a cheap car? You do not know me.
Spend some time looking at yourself, maybe ask yourself why you feel the need to be rude and belittle others’ contributions - be they statements or questions. You strike me as a bitter, unhappy character, a know-it-all who enjoys spreading their misery but, hey, I could be wrong and I’m sure you think I am.

The latter. Thanks for your contribution.

You are correct in that I do not know you. The only information I have is that you are looking at the 2014 A6SE manual and therefore my entire post is based on that.

I will concede my sightly terse response was a reaction to you moaning that nobody had replied within a matter of hours, which was perhaps poor of me but there we go :p

I stand by it - there is no other reason to purchase that particular model. It was a model more or less specifically designed for the company car market which had two main priorities - low benefit in kind value and low P11d value. Consequently a reasonable number of these models were supplied into the company car market and 6 years on it is these cars which occupy the bottom of the A6 market. The only real benefit of them over the rest of the A6 range is that they are cheap. This is no personal slur on yourself, it's just a fact.

You would be far better as a private buyer getting a model a little higher up the range - the A6 is a fundamentally decent executive saloon and it would be a shame to get one devoid of what makes it so. So, like the others suggest, ditch the 2014 and look at a 2015 onwards. Ditch too the SE specification and look at the better appointed S Line model. The manual gearbox and 2 litre diesel engine is also a fairly grim combo that has little redeeming features outside the low price (a product of its undesirability) and there is very little to prefer about a manual gearbox paired to a car of this size with a 4 cylinder diesel. The Stronic box is far better suited to the car and allows manual control if that's what you want.

An excellent response with incredibly helpful advice. Thank you.

Isn't the audi Sline versus se, somewhat akin to the bmw M styling, where you get a firmer suspension, and lower profile tyres/bigger wheels, that may not be too friendly if your local roads are pot-holed; I'm not an M fan anyway.

I had a 2014 Ultra S Line manual on a 2 year lease. To be honest I found the manual gearbox and engine fine. My biggest issue was that I found the seats quite uncomfortable and the sports suspension was too firm, which was a bad combo.

These cars were amongst the first not to have a printed service book. To get the service history you need to go to an Audi dealer. So that could be an issue.

Check the cam belt has been done to schedule. It’s not eye-wateringly expensive (£400-ish) but it needs to be done and there always seems to be confusion about when it should be done (age/mileage).

Check the DPF condition (it has an Ash % full figure that you can get from VCDS or an Audi dealer). Audi’s own service schedule showed the DPF to be replaced at 120,000 miles.

Check if it has the Technology Pack. This got you a bigger screen, HDD based navigation and some form of mobile phone integration. Only the facelift cars got Apple CarPlay/Android Auto as a option. It is possible to retrofit it on cars with Tech Pack. The base stereo is awful. Bose is better and I’ve never heard the £6000 B&O option but it’s probably fine. Anything to do with the stereo system is £1000 to fix. Check the MMI controller clicks and spins positively. If it’s soft or has small travel it’s a very expensive fix. The pop-out screens stick and it’s completely normal even on new cars for them to not come out smoothly. But if it’s broken it’s £1000 to fix.

Anything on these cars is expensive to fix. Most electrical parts have ‘component protection’ and need to be fitted by a dealer or a proper specialist.

They’re fine, but I wouldn’t buy one without a copper-bottomed warranty.

Not sure if its apples for apples but I have the B&O option in my B8 S4 along with the nav plus, the bass is pretty cool and surround works really well and very configurable towards driver, front or rear zones.
I was originally looking for an aS6 estate but the carbon issues with the big lump put me off, still kind of wish they'd produced the 3l v6 SC engine into the S6 as its just that bit more roomy in the back bench.

It's an S6 Avant I have, and the B&O stereo is exceptional. It makes a mockery of even the highest end BMW system. Quite possibly the only redeeming feature of the brand.
