Steam Link - still useful/worthwhile?

Does anyone still use a SteamLink for playing PC games on their TV set up in another room? I've always wanted to do this but as my PC is on WiFi it's never been an option I've bothered with. Hopefully I'll soon be able to run an actual ethernet cable from my spare room where the PC is to my router so I'm now looking at options so I can make more use of my PC library.

They're obviously not sold any more, but is the SteamLink still supported and worth trying? I know Nvidia do their equivalent with the Shield too but this seems like a more expensive option, given the SteamLinks are on eBay for £20 or so.

Check out this thread as well. I have the Steam Link box, I have Steam Link app on the Samsung TV, and I'm trying Parsec and Moonlight through my Raspberry Pi - which seem to work better than the Steam Link options.

I'm using the network through the house electricity rather than WiFi.

The compression is too heavy handed for me.

Just does not seem that great in my opinion in 2020.

Parsec does a much better job.

If you are happy with 1080p them it is fine.

Ah thanks guys, hadn't heard if Parsec or Moonlight, I'll do some research. I've also seen there's some kind of screen mirroring available from Windows 10 to the Xbox One so I might look into that, although I was planning on selling the thing anyway.
