I didn't know this was an issue? I currently use a 10 metre cable from my PC to the lounge @ 1080p 120hz on my B9, you saying I won't be able to to do 4k @ 120hz with a 10 metre cable?

Possibly. Quality of the cable matters, more so at those lengths given the massive increase in information going down the pipe when doing 4k @ 120hz with HDR 4:4:4 etc. Not seen any 2.1 cables formally validated up to 10m, but then again suspect it may come out the woodwork as people are now actually able to test.

I have seen a few 10m or so saying they are hdmi 2.1 around the £80 or so mark, guess see how things pan out.

Ummm, Well as soon as I get my 3080 in my hands I'll test it out and report back, hopefully it works because there is noway I'm dragging my PC into the lounge.

Doubt this will work maxed out, no harm in trying though. For that length probably looking at optical or an active cable to get stable bandwidth. I just moved my PC to be next to the TV :D

Hey guys,

I have a budget of around £1200 for a TV and would really like a 55" OLED. I have had my eye on the CX for a while but I can't see it coming down that low.

Would a 55" B9 be a good deal at around £1100? I understand that the B9/BX/C9/CX are all very similar?

With black Friday just around the corner there may be deals to be had if you can wait that long.

I would expect the BX/CX to come down a bit more.

£1200 was the going rate for a 55C9 long before it went EOL. It was at £1149 at one point IIRC.

The 55B9 was even less, £989 at one point in spring I think.

If you read back through this thread, it was October onwards that the 55B9/C9 prices started tumbling from the £1600-£1800 they'd held since launch.

How do you do that ?

Several ways to get into the service screen but I did it with a Harmony remote.

press the 'in-start' button with password 0413
'system 2' menu and change NSU from user to engineer
restart then do an OTA check for update.

Not committed to doing it myself yet but went through all the steps except the change and reboot as will see if others experience any downsides.

A few people have done it on the comments section of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VMyS-muSmbE

I think I will wait for an official update seems safer.... lol

Sod it ;) don't fancy waiting nearly two months for LG.

Enabled GSync, ran 'pendulum demo' and not a black screen to be seen :D

I'm mad as a box of frogs so don't try this at home kids.

I only have my laptop with G-Sync with a 2070. It seemed to work ok when I tried it briefly...

The issue was related to 4k @ 120hz with G-Sync. So basically only something the new Ampere GPUs will do with HDMI 2.1. Your laptop would not see the issue. With this fix you can get everything running full glory with a 3xxx card: 4k, 120Hz, 4:4:4 Chroma, HDR, and G-Sync etc
