Looking at the difference between the 3080 and 2080ti i dont see a big jump in performance at all.
I will be keeping my 2080Ti and see if Nvidia do a 3080Ti in a few months. The current batch of 3080's don't seem to overclock to well either.

The 3090 with more video ram looks appealing but as people have said its not really a gaming card and it cant do 8k either and has a lot of features turned off. plus its a power hungry beast !!!!!

I think the 3080 is disappointing in reality so will wait and see how the 3000 range pans out in a few months time before i ditch the 2080Ti

so basically people have been saying that the price of a used 2080ti has been obliterated overnight, i listed my 2080ti twice on the bay and each time they sold within 30 mins, 1st i put it up for 625 then 675, they went in a flash

i reckon ppl who need a card asap, due to the 3000 series shortage they are opting for the next best thing at half the price

Ive got a used 980ti so im gonna use that until the 3080 is available, for the proceeds of the 2080ti will be used to get a 3080

then ill sell the 3080 if a 3080ti is released, thats the best way i think, sell n upgrade if you want the latest.

I’m keeping mine also. It does everything I need and the 3080 being only 30% average faster than the 2080Ti perhaps even less once the 2080Ti is overclocked. 2080Ti is still a very relevant card.

If the 3080 is this fast then what hope does the 3070 have... 3080 has 40% more cudas than 3070 :o.

My only regret is perhaps not picking one up for £300 for SLI when people were giving them away :p

As a few posts above I’m also seeing what AMD bring but will likely wait until nvidia next gen anyway.

I sold my 2080 Ti 2 weeks before 3080 launch for £800

3080 might be disappointing to a 2080Ti owner in much the same way a 1080 wasn't enough for a 980Ti owner. I think the point here is to simply say a 3080 is not a product designed for 2080Ti owners your product is the 3090 but its not that much faster so you're left think is it worth it? No probably not might as well wait for Hopper

I don't get comments on why the 3080 is disappointing. The gap between it and the 2080Ti is similar to the gap between the 1080ti and 2080ti and that is ignoring the 2080Ti came out way more expensive and the 3080 is not even the inevitable Ti SKU and that in RT games the gap grows more at 4k.

Sure as an upgrade it may not make sense from a 2080Ti, but certainly brings the same leap of performance the 2080Ti offered over the 1080Ti but at a much cheaper price. No wonder its selling like mad and will do so for months depending on what AMD do.

It’s disappointing in timespy scores but a good 20% better on launch day drivers in gaming and I suspect that’s only going to improve with time. At the ‘launch’ price point the 3080 is excellent value and a great product, at least in theory, didn’t quite work so well in practice!!

I don't think it's worth upgrading from a 2080Ti to a 3080 either. I'm probably going to go to a 3090 at some point just for rendering performance. For gaming the 2080Ti is still easily enough at 1440p

Don't forget AMD have a decent looking lineup coming, they're looking very promising.
My "worry" is that the stock situation with the AMD card will be even worse than NVidia if it provides a better price/performance. And with lots of people not receiving their orders yet, I'm imagining people cancelling the NVidia orders and flooding the AMD ones.

According to an AMD tweet, they will not be short of supply like nVidia were.

I'm a similar way with a now rather humble 2070 Super, still the best card I've owned and playing all my games at 1440p.

The 3000 cards wern't that easy to get hold of either, some sold 2080ti's and can't get replacements yet, going back to the old phrase that 'A card in the hand is worth two in the 3080 queue'.

I never saw the 3080 as a upgrade from a 2080ti anyway, I don't know where all that come from, if anything maybe the 3080ti when it's released but even then if it's only like 20% faster I would probably wait till the 4 series that will come out in 2022 with first deliveries of 2024..... kappa.

Very true, you never know AMD might pull some thing out of the bag! but for me i dont see the 3080 as a viable upgrade at all.

Simple don't upgrade? There is nothing coming out in the next year that's going to struggle on the 2080Ti.

Just on AMD, If the 3080 isn't a worthwhile upgrade, I don't think anything AMD release will be worth it either. All the rumours are pointing to 3080 levels of performance.
