I may be appologizing as well, after posting I did a bit of research and I found some people saying the 3700x does bottleneck a 3080 a bit so maybe better to google it and see what you can find

My 3600 here bottlenecks 3080 on 2560x1440p on Red Red Redemption 2 for example. So I bet 3700x will do the same.
I think the best deal now if you cant wait for 3080 is an used 2080ti. Get under £600 and it is still a good deal as no one knows when 3080 will available again to buy.

If you GPU bound, getting a 3080 RTX you will more than likely mean your still GPU bound, if your running 1080p? you don't need £700 GFX card save some cash buy a 3070.

Go watch a few Gamers Nexus videos, he actually reviews 3600x with 2080Ti once you're at 1440p there's no noticeable bottlenecking going on, only difference at play are IPC of CPUs on the list.

I have a 3700x and I’m getting a 3080. Of course the 3700x will bottleneck it sometimes. You always have a bottleneck no matter what. A 10900k will even bottleneck it in certain titles.
A 10700k or so will get you a little more FPS, especially at 1080p, but for 1440p it’s less, and 4k won’t make a difference.

If you are CPU bound by the 3700x, the FPS will tend to be so high it won’t make a difference.
