only cause ASUS didn’t start making them until after launch and each card takes 144 hours and now the factory is on holiday.
.

Source please?

Is this from raw material to finished product?
Or just when ASUs gets their hands on it?
Is most of that time stability testing?

ASUS ROP Germany official site on FB. One of the better sites for giving up to date info.

We are aware that RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 cards significantly exceeds demand, which can cause frustration for many who have been looking forward to our new cards.
So we'd like to show you some measures we've already taken to ensure that all the GPUs we're getting into the right hands as soon as possible: yours!

✅ Delivery without detour
All available GPUs will be assembled and tested on our cards asap (up to 144 hours). Afterwards (and this is new) the finished cards are delivered directly via DHL Express from the factory to the respective online shop. This is how the usual stopovers are eliminated and we save valuable time.

✅ From real gamers...
Our graphics cards are designed for PC gaming. We have no interest in them being used for anything other than gaming. We therefore only deliver our RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 cards to shops that we know sell directly to private customers.

✅... for real gamers
We recommend the shops we work with to issue only one card per customer. In addition, trusted accounts are preferred.

What's next?
Due to the enormous demand, which even exceeded the highest expectations, we have to ask for a little patience.
Currently we send new cards to the dealers several times a week and of course we continue to work to ensure that anyone who wants to buy an RTX 3080 or RTX 3090 gets it too.

Who already got a TUF or ROG Strix RTX 3080/3090? We appreciate photos of PCs in the comments.

Da viele gefragt haben:

Wir haben eine Liste der Anbieter zusammengestellt, die aktuell mit RTX 3080 und RTX 3090 sowohl aus der ROG Strix- als auch als TUF-Serie beliefert werden:

✅ Alternate
✅ Caseking
✅ Notebooksbilliger
✅ Media Markt
✅ Saturn
✅ Computeruniverse
✅ Conrad
✅ Cyberport
✅ Arlt
✅ Bora
✅ Amazon

they also confirmed that it is OC version only they are shipping atm, no Normal versions at all

they also confirmed on there that EU retailers will all be receiving 3090 oc strix cards on Monday.

Still better than Turing though. Those 2080ti owners who bought in the last few weeks/months (before the insane price crash) got burned.... Bested by a 3070, worst generational % increase compared to previous gen of all time, no HDMI 2.1 and lost over 60% of value after 3000 launch news. Ouch.

Depends how you look at it. Yeah, it's a bigger performance jump than Turing. However, Turing offered RT for the first time along with other goodies and NOT insane power draw.

As for bested by a 3070. Not fact yet is it? that's just an opinion based on their lies. Of which they have been plenty.

is reviews of the 3070 out yet then? As Nvidia wasn’t correct with the 3080 being 100% faster than last gen or it being the biggest generational gain ever so why are you all of suddenly believing a 3070 beats a 2080ti?

we have already seen that since the power has been maxed out on these 3080s and there is barely any overclocking room, unless you are using RT or DLSS the 3080 are only 5-15% faster than decent 2080ti so can’t see a 3070 beating it

The concern some people have over other people's purchases is truly touching.:p

The only thing that really matters is how happy the individual is with their purchase. Like beauty, value is in the eye of the beholder.

I got no issues with people buying the card, that is their business, my complaint was aimed at a review.

hold on, there is some inconsistency there, 1080ti is compared to 980ti, 2080ti is compared to 1080ti, but he then compares the non ti 3090 to 2080ti.

the 3090 is a poor product it doesnt scale up like it usually does in previous gen's thats a fair point but why is there no 3080 vs 2080 on his graph?

He is comparing top end flagship cards. Hence no 680, no 1080, no 2080 etc.

If he removed the flagships and ran the same comparison it would look roughly the same.

The 3090 should be the 3080Ti, but Nvidia had to be stupid about it. Probably because there is no Titan, so they needed a way of milking people more without losing face. 'Cause let's face it if they released it as a Titan card they would have gotten laughed off of the planet by pro users due to its power requirements.

They will probably release a 3080Ti when AMD have had their turn. I think that is when you will find all of those rumoured cards with more VRAM will make their debut.

BTW I recommend you watch the video yourself, as it is made up of 100% fact with absolutely no opinion or his thoughts in it at all.

There is also not GTX 680 but then it was always intended as mid/high range but got the top card slot as no competition so 500 to 700 was not really 100% in one card (cant remember if Gen changed)

I don't agree with that. Firstly Turing wasn't a power guzzler, and Turing was round 1 of RT. It was far too expensive, but it was much better behaved even if the performance bump was laughable.

A technology that has had many rushing out to buy new power supplies can hardly be described as better. Yeah, it's faster with its balls clocked off, but that is about where it ends for gaming. Everything else about Ampere stinks.

You will probably find this out if AMD have gone back to making gamer cards, and not continuing to try and pass off cards for Pixar as gaming cards like Nvidia are doing now.

It wasn't intended as a high end card. It just got that name and price because AMD were nowhere to be found at the time. The 7970 was fast yeah, but had appalling manners kinda like every other GCN card.

Expect big Navi to be a lot like Pascal. Because it's not a server card in gaming drag it's a proper gaming card like the 5000 series were.

Turing had awful RT performance, even with the 2080Ti. This is why many, including myself, stuck with Pascal. Ampere is offering 30%+ at launch and should offer even more as time goes on.

Some are claiming that an overclocked 2080Ti can catch the 3080, but at what power usage?

Turing has good RT performance with DLSS. Though I agree, RT is not for me yet. Too grainy.

FWIW the stock firmware on the 2080Ti has a 400w absolute limit. You can bypass it if you wish. What I will say is the card pulls about 500w at the top LN2 clock, but only because that clock is insane.

The bottom line? Turing was actually very well behaved on power use and was a decent tech, it was just far too expensive. But that is early adopter tax and it has always been the same.

Ampere is simply not a gaming GPU. Just like Fermi, it has been designed for everything else first. If AMD have taken a step back with Navi 2 and turned it into a gaming card? it will be much better behaved, cooler, lower power use meaning it will overclock very well. Just think of it as the 5000 series VS Fermi all over again. After that AMD went GCN trying to kill two birds with one stone (IE the power user/server market and gamers). We all know how that ends. Great if you are Pixar, crap if you are a gamer.
