Hi all,

Just got a Legion 5 with the refreshed 1F15 RTX2060.

I can confirm it's possible to unlock the XTU undervolting as per:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Lenovo/com.../?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3

I can also confirm that it's possible to flash the vBIOS to a 115W variant as per:

https://www.win-raid.com/t5087f16-Requesting-a-modded-vbios-for-Rtx-max-Q-1.html#msg121945

Previous boost limit was 1200 MHz (GPUZ). Actual boost limit was around 1600 Mhz before hitting power limit.

After flash, boost limit is 1560 Mhz (GPUZ). Actual boost limit is now around 1860 Mhz before power limit hit.

Happy days! (Needless to say, I was bricking it a bit flashing the vBIOS, even though I made a backup of the original!)

:D

Thermals are awesome in this thing - even after the 115 W vBIOS, I never hit a GPU thermal limit.

I went for the cheapest laptop I could find with 2060.

So i5-10300 in this case.

Because the laptop is a 2020 release, it’s 99% certain to have the new 1F15 2060 in it.

Finally hitting some thermal limits on CPU when running Prime95 and Unigine Valley at the same time.

Furthest I’ve got so far is 4.2Ghz on CPU (absolute multicore limit) and 1860 MHz on GPU core.

That’s with a little XTU tweaking but nothing done in MSI afterburner yet.

Absolute budget powerhouse!

OK, I think I've dialled in final clocks:

CPU = -125mW Core & Cache, -100mV iGPU, Turbo Boost Max Power extended to 95 W.

That basically means it maxes out @ 4.2 GHz on all cores with the occassional thermal throttle.

GPU = this thing's insane!

Custom curve limited to 925 mV, which means 1950 Mhz stable with no power or thermal throttling. and +500 MHz on the memory!

Userbenchmark when I received the laptop = https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/33784838

Userbenchmark with all mods applied = https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/33813230

EDIT - top of the leaderboard for this make/model, even with an i5! :D

read about your cross flash on the legion 5i with 2060 refresh. were there any noticable impairement from the cross flash i.e. broken ports reduced battery life (normal usage) or buggy optimus etc? your comments appreciated.

Not that I've noticed, but then I've not really compared too much with the old BIOS - flashing it was one of the first things I did, although I did take a backup of the old one, so I should be able to flash back if needed.

BUT:

1) I don't care about battery life. I use my laptop plugged in 99% of the time.
2) Mine only has HDMI out and I use it 99% of the time on a monitor.
3) No idea about "buggy Optimus" - I don't know what graphics card the desktop is using and I don't really care. I suspect it's using the nVidia all the time.
