I've had my Obsidian 800D for a good 8 years now and as much as I do love having the monolith from 2001: A Space Odyssey in my room, it's also starting to show its age. I may have to consider doing some research into what midi cases can take the girth of a Strix 3090

I have something of similar proportions absolutely dwarfs my motherboard lol

Haha yes don't think pretty case design is really my thing should really match all the SATA cables though at the very least lol :D

However all the thin multicolored cables are prefitted with the case to save you trailing wires everywhere they have done the hard work to pre placed mounting points!

I've got all the products saved so when it comes available im'a do a buy unless OCUK stocks it within a couple of days. The LCD manifold is separate as well so you need:

1. Backplate with the heatpipe
2. LCD Manifold with heatpipe adaptation
3. gpu block

Looking at prices, it's going to be around £210-220ish for the lot.

They got back to me and said they will be ordering, it's just not available yet obviously but depends how many caseking get as they get stocks direct from them.
Nice one. If you compare against the cost of an EKWB block and backplate, that's pretty good.

Yeah its not bad at all, you get the LCD display and a rear heatpipe for active cooling of the backplate... not sure what EK has to offer this time round but i doubt it will be anywhere as techy as Aqua for similar money.

Just got my palit OC today. In afterburner the core voltage is greyed out even after I enable it in the settings. Is there a way for me to turn it on so I can try a mild overclock?

I wouldn't bother with it. If it's anything like the last generation it's a placebo and hardly makes any difference. I tried it on the Galax 380W bios on 2080 Ti and did FA.

This little fella left me today to get its connector replaced, hopefully it will be back soon!

I received it on the 26th and used it almost non stop since. There was a gap of a single day when, while tidying up the cabling in my pc, that involved unplugging and replugging the power cables, some of the pins in the connector got pushed back and the GPU wouldn't get enough juice to start. I managed to sort that out with a bit of DIY as you can see in my posts in the Connector Concerns thread, but now I'm sending it back to Gigabyte (thx GIGA-Man!) to sort it out for good.

I actually had a few crashes while playing Ghost Recon Breakpoint on stock settings. Doom and COD:MW were stable, even during extended sessions, so it may be GR:BP, or my 750W Corsair PSU couldn't handle the peaks, or maybe the pins were not connecting properly, I will never know, but I will keep you posted how it goes once I get it back with the new connector.

Sorry to hear about this, however it doesn't surprise me. I used to be a big Gigabyte fan years ago, but quality seems to have dropped off a cliff over the last few years. The last thing I bought of theirs was my old 980Ti, and from day one I had problems with fans stopping whilst making grinding noises etc and loud coil whine - when looking online I saw it was a common problem and RMA's never fixed it either. This, topped off with the declining quality and reliability of their motherboards that I always used to use just steered me well away from that brand.

Nice to see these trickling through. Anyone gone from 1080ti to one of these and game at 4k? What's the real 'feel' in performance jump? Thanks in advance

I went from a 2080 super to a 3080 ventus - that doubled my frames. then I've gone from that 3080 to 3090 (yes, I am probably a fool!) and got around another 15% increase. That is on R6 Siege running on a 38" LG 3840x1600, so I would say yes youll definitely feel the difference.

On a side note, the fans are pretty loud on my palit 3090 - what curves are any of you with the same card using? I was playing shadow of the tomb raider last night, stock fan settings are quiet and temps didnt seem to go above the 70 mark, but I was only getting 50-55 fps, when i turned on my custom curve, the fps jumped up to 70+, but was significantly louder. Again though the temps sat around that 70 mark

You got a 3080 then managed a 3090 too. You are either a unicorn, work for a retailer or you need to teach me how to beat 'buying bots'.........

Sold your 3080?
