Do you keep your partners "separate" from your friends?

I dont have any friends so no issues there. She has a couple she will meet every now and then plus occasionally meets her sister and mother. Thats how it is and we both prefer each others company so it works well for us

I find it odd too but also have a friend who has been married for ~10 years and been her for 15 years yet I have never met her, nor has most of his friends.
My girlfriend enjoys coming out with my friends and me the same with hers. Each to their own I suppose, their relationship maybe is just different

If I let my wife meet my friends, she might work out what a geek I am when we spend 3 hours talking about IT stuff.....

Hah, my wife just rolls her eyes now. She's well used to it. Our other halves generally clear off into the next room and open a bottle of wine if the "geek" talk gets too much :p

Nope, we kinda merged, not that we have massive social circles at this stage in our lives.

We've been on holidays with her friends, we've been on holidays with my friends, and when we have things like BBQs or game nights it is a merger of both our work and non-work friends.

I very rarely hang around with my missus's friends apart from the odd meal at Christmas. I have nothing in common with them and they all have kids so any events are kid orientated. My missus on the other hand is now part of my social circle and quite often comes out with us when we are doing things.

Not odd at all. Why would people choose to socialise if they have nothing in common? I have a group of mates, who are really great lads, but the women aren’t generally there. We get very ‘merry’, so I dare say they have no interest in doing that. My Mrs sometimes joins in if she’s about but mainly as she likes a drink or ten as well, and generally banters better with men than women anyway.

Which leads us to another point; blokes like blokey time and women like girly time. We can talk about the things we wouldn’t discuss with women around, and vice versa. I think it’s more weird if people didn’t want that from time to time.

I’ve got other mates where we do go out as couples. It’s all about the people at the end of the day, some people are just easier to get along with. There’s also the factor of the blokes who are joined at the hip so you have to go out as couples otherwise they’re not allowed out :D

It's odd how totally separate it is.

I haven't been to the pub or a restaurant with some of my wife's friends but I have socialised/met them.

My friends and I love a session but my wife does not, but she knows all of them and is friendly with them.

Seems a bit unusual.

Me and my mates used to sit around getting wasted and watching telly. Now the girls are all best friends and organise family days out and so on.

Definitely odd. Sure there are guys nights where you don't want any women around, but anything else, I would be bringing my girlfriend with me. We are a couple, not single.

Dunno if it's Swedish culture or my gf and everyone I know is just weird, but, if we bump into somone shopping or out and about, I don't get introduced or included at all :p They just chat like I don't exist. Barely acknowledged.

I love Sweden

If I was going mountain biking with mates I wouldn't expect my wife to hang out with my mates partners but if we meet up where it's not a lads only event it's usually with our other half's in tow.
