I certainly don't mind having a punt on second hand parts.
But it can be like rolling dice when it comes to GPUs.
You really don't know if your buying someone else's problems.

Unfortunately some people are less than honest in their product descriptions.
Omitting small details like it randomly black screens, has heat damage or some other defect that comes to light under load.

Don't pay anymore than £200 for used GPUs. If you spend anymore you are better off buying a new GPU with slightly less performance or waiting until you have put away an extra few pound for the card you want new.

Used will be better value, the concerns will be warranty and if you have a big enough OCD that insists you get a shiny new product. I dont hear of many horror stories about people getting dud stuff used in the PC market.

Used cards are not worth it anymore imo, you save a miniscule amount and get a card that's years old with no warranty that can go kaput at any time.

Good example is the 1070 Vs 1660super, 1070 is pointless to me unless it was sub £130ish. Rather pay the little extra and have a new card with warranty that also supports dx12/vulkan better.

I agree, used prices are crazy at moment if you spending £200/230 I would get a new card, unless you get a bargain, you need to look at benchmarks of older cards to make sure you not paying over the odds for a second hand card.

Yes there is certainly the peace of mind aspect with new purchases.

Still undecided, MM prices are good but stuff comes up rarely, where as there's plenty on Ebay but prices are steep.

Not a debate for me. Static can reduce the lifetime of a chip so for me knowing the history of the device is important. I won't buy anything unless it's in a sealed bag, lol.
