Network Cables Crossing Cat6

Hi All,

I am having a whole-house renovation and I have just laid all my ethernet and now the electrician has decided to cross about 10 power cables in a bunch with my ethernet cables at a 90-degree angle. I know in normal situations a one on one cross over would be fine, but can someone advise if this amount of cables would be a problem?

Thanks

Yes.

If they must cross, 90 degrees is how you want it.

In reality, you can get away with all sorts of things that in theory you shouldn't (and what you describe wouldn't fall into that category anyway).

Network cabling is amazingly robust, even complete amateurs can install it.

I recently had my house wired with cat 6a throughout. For two of the rooms, the ethernet cable runs parallel to the power cable for about 2m up the inside of the walls and into the loft. No issues so far or speed/latency difference from the ports in other rooms when running at 1Gb speeds. I suppose the real test will be when I install a 10G switch at some point next year and try to get a 10G network up and running at home.
