Hi everyone, been a while since this issue occured,

So its coming up to nearly 3 years since the upgrade program. and MSI have decided to screw the pooch once again in the UK market. At the time of the upgrade program we was promised (and I asked) if we would receive brand new warrenty with the third year warrenty care cover if it had already been applied.

MSI replied with yes. A few weeks back my internal keyboard stopped working correctly I have been going back and fourth in exchanges with MSI who will not honour the warrenty cover, who charged us standard Retail price for a GPU upgrade from 980m to gtx 1080 and the 6th gen to 7th gen cpu (in my case £750) payment was issues by international bank transfer with a iban code i think this resulted in approx £50-60 extra fees to myself as no other alternative uk bank transfer/payment method was offered.

Anyway MSI wont honor what they said at the time weith the warrenty despiter screenshot proof provided to them that it was the arrangement and chargeing me 91 euros for a replacement keyboard for the GT73VR that isnt even the original oem part

Not surprised there's a lawsuit going on against them they're a piece of **** they once made a FB post telling you to give the Nvidia cards they make positive reviews and they'll pay you for it but don't give their AMD parts positive reviews and since that day I don't touch anything to do with MSI

Not in the habit of brining up old threads... but it's not a little ironic MSI are being **** heads again, for not just scalping, but doing exactly what has been reported in this thread.

A subsidiary of MSI was selling new Ampere graphics cards, direct from MSI, at twice their retail price while there was a shortage of retail stock in MSI's normal channel.
^^^This - but MSI imply that it was a essentially a one man band with the ability to act with full autonomy so they could not be responsible for one persons actions/prices etc, excuses, etc...

...and have now assured us it can't happen again.

I'm 50/50 on that - either they genuinely were caught out by it or are very aware their reputation couldn't take the hit as they dealt with it very quickly and decisively when it became news.

I have zero opinion TBH - it's something and nothing. It's like all things YouTube/Twitter - gets blown up out of all proportion before any hard facts have been attained...

Yeah they have form - but circumstantial and all that. I found it interesting they didn't try to wriggle out of it or wall of silence which either means they intentionally did it and realised the optics weren't good when caught out or were caught out by the actions of a subsidiary.
