Hi randall, thank you for that. I just did a quick search and its similar to the wavemaster, but your suggestion helped me identify the case I have. It's the Cooler Master Cavalier 3 T03 Black.

Would be interested in the 201, unfortunately you can’t access the members market which is a shame.

I sold my 101b on eBay at the start of this year for £105.
Like Fox, I got it in 2002 and it’s been a solid performing case. I still remember unboxing it, building up the parts and being amazed by the quality of the case.

Just finished a retro XP build in a 201.

Still need to tweak a few things (are they ever truly finished?) but it’s assembled and working.

Athlon 64 X2 6400+
Asus M2N32-SLI Deluxe
8GB Corsair DDR2 800
SLI 8800 GTS 640MB
EVGA Gold 550 PSU
Coolermaster 201
1TB HDD

The x2 6400+ is a 125w part - airflow is pretty good with 4x80 fans but you are also limited by things such as GPU length which is quite restricted. It’s also quite narrow compared to most modern cases.

Still running my ATCS201 as my primary system for now what is almost 19 years :D

Going to attempt a Ryzen 5600X/ RTX 3070 build into it next month. Hopefully it all fits...

Not specifically a 3070, but a 1080 with the same dimensions.

The 80mm fans are definitely starting to show their limits though, thermally I'd say you might be asking s bit much of the old girl. Awesome cases that they are.

Anyone know how much these cases are worth these days? I have a black widow and a silver widow that I’ve had for years. I don’t have a use for them any more so I may as well sell them!

Get them on members market. Please. :D (I paid around £60/70 or something like that for the last one).

It should do, the biggest problem as you know (aside from the somewhat restricted airflow and tricky cable management) is the width of the case. It seriously limits the width of GPU you can use, especially with the power plugs on the side. If the reference 3070 is the same width as the 1080/2000 series reference cards you should be OK. But an AIB card may be pushing it.

I need to update this thread as I changed the hardware in the 201 I posted above, it now has a FX8350, 32GB 1886, Crossfire 7970’s. I’ve got a 120mm intake in place of 3 of the front 5.25 bays, and I’ve got some replacement acrylic so I can keep the original panel, and make a replacement with a 140mm fan on the side to help the crossfire 7970’s which pump a ton of heat in to the case.

I'm definitely going to try it, I thought we had come out the other side of the era of excessively hot PC components - it can't run hotter than an overclocked Q6600 surely :D
