Old laptop is a faithful Acer Aspire 7750 from 2011. Recently, I’ve swapped out the CPU from an i5-2410M to an i7-2720QM.
This has nearly doubled the speed (I don’t do any gaming though), but the new chip supports DDR3-1600MHz memory whereas the old one only supported DDR3-1333...
There are NO settings in the BIOS on this laptop apart from time/date and boot order.
Is it likely that, should I buy some faster memory, it’d automatically work at the higher speed? Would I actually notice any difference?
