Had two Hipers, they both ran without a flaw for many years.
Were really good looking for their day, even their packaging.. I changed due to the rumour mill and changes to motherboard PSU cabling.
I went with a Seasonic X-650, I remember its magazine review then ordering it. Last night the 650 failed.
I would definitely change your old PSU, though I would recommend a serious look at wattage requirement.
Rare any modern system needs more than a 550w can supply, and so many are running more expensive 750w and 850w which in reality wont save anything in the long run.
