are there any reasonably priced 32" 4k monitors with a high refresh rate out there? I wish to trade up from my 28" 4k 60hz

No, not that are any good anyway. Which is why i am till stuck with my 32" 4k IPS 60hz screen i bought 4 yeas ago for £450. Nothing better yet.

"not that are any good anyway". yes my 4k 28" was priced less than £450 when I bought it and hence why I am looking for a better one. However I don't want to spend silly money (£450 is probably the max that I would consider)

Acer X32 - 144Hz, mini-LED FALD, G-Sync Ultimate, 1400-nits HDR. €3350
Acer XB323QK - 144Hz, "G-Sync compatible", 400 nits. €1099
ViewSonic XG320U - 144Hz, DisplayHDR 600, HDMI 2.1, €999
All are IPS and those that mention it have a wide colour gamut... I wonder what the odds on them all (behind the scenes) using the same basic panel?
As for release dates, nothing concrete anywhere, annoyingly - mention of August (from articles in June, obviously rubbish), others say September (I suspect rubbish again, as we'd have heard by now), yet more say early next year...
No RRPs in pounds, either, just euros and dollars.
Now that new RTX cards are coming, maybe we will see one of those monitors finally released.

I think someone should investigate market fixing at this point tbh there is something hidden about why its taking panel manufacturers this long to produce, that's not purely down to technical reasons.

DP 1.4 being fine to use for 4K high refresh with hdr etc but how does a premium screen being released in 2021 NOT have HDMI 2.1?! Given the GPUs being used on them and consoles will now support this.

I think HDMI 2.1 is aimed solidly at consoles. Particularly as the CX48 inch OLED guys still cant run theirs with 3000 series cards at 4k 120hz. Last I looked anyway.
Would be nice if ASUS and Acer could get these 32" 4K 144Hz G-Sync models out before the end of the year. This really would have been a very complimentary product launch along side the RTX 3000 series.
I'm using a QHD 32" G-Sync LG monitor at the moment and I really don't want to step down to a 4K at 27", I would definitely feel the reduction in screen real estate.

I get the console argument. One could argue it's not NEEDED on a monitor exactly, although there would be benefit to it. Plenty of people use monitors with consoles also, so that rules this out with the PG32UQX. More to the point though, it's the perception of value when it's not included. Seems a mistake to me to not do so, given this is obviously going to be a premium product with a price tag to match. Not including HDMI 2.1 will put quite a few people off, and certainly anyone who wants to hook up a next gen console to it will look elsewhere.

Completely agree, particularity when they still add composite connections and stuff barely anyone uses anymore.
Because Display Port has greater bandwidth. HDMI 2.1 changes that.
It seems even the lastest 3080 cards still have one HDMI port (2.1) and three DisplayPorts.
Yes because how many monitors have HDMI 2.1? None currently. It's still very early, but this will change.
