Blower version of 3080s

All of this range seem to vent all their heat into the case, is there a techical or cost reason why they are not blower type and chuck it out the back

Been like this for years. The heat into the case argument is technically true but doesn't make a big a difference as you think.

Blower might be useful in SFF. Almost all blowers are loud though.

In theory if you got a 3080 with horizontal fins you could mod your own blower on the end and disconnect/cover the existing fans.

Blowers aren't very efficient and only have a small area to exhaust heat. The heat output of the 30x0 series will make a blower design even more challenging. To get adequate airflow from a single fan it'd have to be fun fast and loud.

Blower coolers have something like just a single 70mm fan

That single little fan would need to push out 320+ watts of heat out of a single tiny PCI slot ;)
