Sold my 1080 Ti after receiving my 3080 so I had zero days without a gaming GPU. The 1080 Ti depreciated by £299 in the two and half years I owned it. That's 23p per day.
I'll not be shuffling my 3080 until I have a 4000 series in hand.

Did well without the shuffle this time.

Bought 3080 on launch for £649 with watchdogs game.

Sold 1080Ti a week later for £350 after costs.

Bring on Cyberpunk2077.

Shuffled my 2080TI for -£150 buying cost for my Gigabyte Vision to a buyer who needed the access to a card for rendering and wanted the 11GB of vRAM.

Mint card, i didn't ask questions.
Prefaced this with a time frame of 3080 needed to be delivered first. Already have my 3080. Worked out well this time around.

If there are no new must play games that are due out towards the 4080 release I will still have a go at the shuffle like I have been the near past 2 decades. Usually works fine for me as I don’t play online much and even on a card like an RX 580 I can play majority of my steam library just fine to keep me busy. Will see how it goes :)

Sold my 2080ti for £850 and within a month was gaming on my 3080 which I got for £630 after selling the watchdogs code. Thanks for the shuffle advice, it worked for me!

Out of interest did anyone fail the shuffle in an unexpected way, i.e. tried to follow the pattern but left with egg on their face i.e:

1) Sold old GPU before the 3000 series announced for what seemed an OK price
2) Unable to get a 3000 series GPU due to stock shortage
3) Market rate for their original GPU is now higher than it was when they sold it in the summer
4) Can't find a decent replacement GPU at a decent price.

Ran a 780ti for years since the release.

Bought a 2070 Super MSI Trio £450 from the forest after completing a new build.

returned the 2070 Super after two months use for a refund and upgraded to a 3080 for £350 difference.

looking back should have kept the 2070 S and flogged it on the bay.

I still have my 2080ti along with my 3090 just didnt get round to selling it, Didn't see the point for 350 or 400 what ever they was going for.

I promised my 1080ti for free to someone I know who loves gaming but hasn't got much cash - he was gaming on a 960. Initially, I thought he would be let down but lady luck smiled on me a week after release and I bagged a 3080-FE.

Sometimes, Karma can be more rewarding than cash. :)

Gave away my ol' 290 thinking my 1070 would go as backup.. Probably have to stick with my 1070 till summer+ FFS.

Considering waltzing into console-land, PS5. But I always wait a good few years for them and often naturally play more casually. Playing backlog currently.

Trying to wait for a 5700/X at sensible MSRP.. Maybe by Mar- summer or so, damn it. Oh, and finally move from W7 to W10, yay..

Same - promised my Radeon VII to a friend so he could have a decent experience with Cyberpunk, then was left worried that I'd be unable to keep the promise. Didn't like that one bit.

Luckily managed to get a 6800 from here only a few days after the game launched and the promise was kept :)

I did mention to him later than the VII was selling on ebay for £200 more than I paid for it new, we had a laugh and he promised to owe me a favour!

My 3070 arriving tomorrow, need to find my packaging for the 1080ti and put that up for sale, I am hoping to get around £350+ for it, this should offset most of the cost of the 3070. Will still keep an eye out for a 3080Fe though, when I get that I will also sell the 3070.

I don't really see the issue. If you wanted to play at 4k for the last year or so it really needed to be a 2080ti. So people paid what they had to if that was important to them.

Yes they've taken a big price hit, but then the 3080 is going to be cheaper to buy than they expected so what's the problem? If the 3080 had been £850 and your 2080ti only took a hit to £600, the price to upgrade is the same as now.

I really don't get the fuss.
not true. iv been playing 4k just fine on a 1080ti..its exactly why i skipt out on 20 series. its only with the recent release of cyber punk were the 1080ti has shown its age.
