Off topic I know but just when your there,
I was going for a new build about two years ago and bought a few component's for it at the time but turned out, I didn't go ahead with the build.

I take it the Thermalright Macho Rev.8 I bought is no good for the 10850K ?

Thanks.

There isn't much between pastes but I would choose THERMAL GRIZZLY KRYONAUT HIGH PERFORMANCE THERMAL PASTE

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/ther...formance-thermal-paste-1-gramm-th-020-tg.html

I know AMD announced new CPUs but I think I'll go Intel, I like the quick sync, I use it almost daily :)

I'm almost ready to place this order but i thought I'd like you guys to look over it first and advice.

Z490 TAICHI MOTHERBOARD

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/asro...-lga-1200-ddr4-atx-motherboard-mb-17d-ak.html

VENGEANCE LPX 32GB (2X16GB) DDR4
https://www.overclockers.co.uk/cors...channel-kit-black-cmk32gx4m2a2-my-452-cs.html

CORE I7-10700K
https://www.overclockers.co.uk/inte...ocket-lga1200-processor-retail-cp-68r-in.html

And I already have the Thermalright Macho Rev.8 (Hope it keep that CPU cool)

Thanks all.

Would get 3200mhz ram , looks like you dropped down from the 10850k.

Do you need such an expensive motherboard ?

Msi are doing cashback on motherboard and cpu combos, bought from participating retailers.

Thanks mickyflinn, what I like about that MB is it has 8 sata sockets, and I would need them all.

Aye, I dropped down on the CPU, I have a 2700K in my current PC and I thought again that I don't really need the 10850k, I would imagine the cheaper CPU will do my job every bit as good, it might not be as fast, but a lot faster than my 2700K.

So, 3200mhz ram would be a better choice, thanks.

Thanks for the MB link, I'll look that up. What motherboard you have in mind? (just had a look at them but only 6 Sata sockets on the board)

Thank you.

Was just trying yo save you some money but if you need 8 sata ports that's understandable.

Good luck with your build.

know your after as many sata ports. checked manual to see if any are deactivated with populated m.2 slots ? Two extra either come from a controller or share PCIe lans

Thanks orbitalwalsh. I was thinking of using an ssd for system drive, for now anyway but i will also check the manual.

Thanks.

Very good point

Hers what ports are disabled if using more than 1 m2 ssd.

M2_2, SATA3_0 and SATA3_1 share lanes. If either one of them is in use, the others will be disabled. M2_3, SATA3_4 and SATA3_5 share lanes. If either one of them is in use, the others will be disabled. M2_3, SATA3_4, SATA3_5 and USB32_TC_1 share lanes. If either one of them is in use, USB32_TC_1 will downgrade to 16 Gb/s max. M2_3 and USB32_TC_1 share lanes. If either one of them is in use, M2_3 and USB32_TC_1 will downgrade to PCIe Gen3 x2 (16 Gb/s).

even Aorus master with 6 sata ports gets eaten.
using the LAST M.2 with NMVe takes away 2 of the 6 sata ports. All 6 can still be used with middle and top NVMe m.2 being populated
