Some warmer Gymshark kit now it's getting a little colder in my home gym. Stuff is really good quality for the price, fits an athletic build really well and holds up over time.

Gymshark Arrival Graphic T-Shirt - Light Grey
Gymshark Boxers (2pk) - Black
Gymshark Crest Sweatshirt - Navy

Go solid lie on a kids bike ;)

Can anyone decode this for me?

(and im heavier than you  :D :p)

Well yeah, weight doesn't really matter with tubeless does it? But as I say, lots of people against it on the road thread. Myself, I would rather stick with what I know. If I get a puncture, I know I can fix it and crack on. Hopefully keeping my pressures up, I wont get so many :)

Having broken a lot of bones & blown a knee up playing football, when it's bad it's the worst paint i've ever felt.

Feels like someone is wringing my hamstring like a tea towel and someone is sticking a knife into my ankle.

Nerve pain. 1* on Tripadvisor. Would not recommend.

I feel your pain! x4 as have four dodgy discs, though was once told if you MRI everyone most people will show something, but never looked into that... I've had 3 major flair ups, 2 before the stuff in my sig and one recently, so life goes on as know how to manage it now. Why did you have to pay for an MRI? I got one within a week of my last flare up.

Cheers guys!

Alas, the car is not included. Maybe once all of the building work is done I can start saving again towards a decent car. :p

It's a bespoke timber-frame job to replace an absolute state of a shed that's currently falling down.

We hired an architectural designer to measure up and design it to our requirements. He also submitted the planning application for us.

Once we got planning approval, we sent the planning drawings to a number of timber-frame specialists for quotes. This render came from one of the timber-frame people after they'd tweaked the planning drawings to fit with their construction methods etc.

They're going to provide us with the full engineering designs and load points, which our groundworks guy will use (in conjunction with Building Control) to ensure the foundations are suitable for the ground conditions.

Once we've got approval from Building Control we can build the foundations while the timber frame people fabricate the frame. They will also clad the exterior in Cedar featheredge so it's all delivered on-site as a kit.

We could have got them to build it for us as well, but their build cost was quite high. We're doing more work than just the garage so it made sense for our builder to erect the kit and fit the roof himself.

Once it's erected up to the eaves, the roller garage door people will come and measure up for that door and our builder will source the personnel door to the side. Install those, stick the roof on and we're done.

The design includes a loft space — it's not going to provide a huge amount of storage space in the grand scheme of things as it's only a single garage, but if it allows us to chuck a few boxes up there it will help keep the clutter down in the house.

In terms of costs — the timber frame kit is £8.5k inc. VAT. That doesn't include the roof tiles, guttering, doors, foundations or the cost to build it (or the costs for ripping down the current shed), so it's probably going to end up around £20–£25k. However, we're getting the garden landscaped, the driveway re-done and some other work to the house, so the total project budget is £40k.

Happy to provide more details if you have any specific questions.

I'm thinking of doing a build log over in Home and Garden.

Thats not bad money for the design, I expected you to say more.

You have answered a question i was going to ask already which was why you have made it so tall as if you hadnt made it so tall, you wouldnt have needed planning permission and that would have saved quite a bit of dosh plus the building would have been cheaper too.

Glad to know life goes on, it sure does feel like my days of doing anything exciting are over!

Ended up paying as the NHS were messing me about, went to A&E twice, once after a phone call with an NHS physio and called ahead and said I desperately needed an MRI and they refused.

It was only £200 private and wanted to just get the imagery done to find out actually what was happening rather the doctors and physio just guessing.

Also paying for private consultant appointment next week, £185, and i'd probably end up waiting months and months for an NHS one. Small price to pay to find a solution.

If I need surgery then it'll be a tougher decision as googling tells me surgery is about £7k, which I can't really afford, but if i'll be waiting a year or something stupid for an NHS one then I might be tempted by some of the 0% finance offers the private hospitals do :(

We would have needed planning anyway for a couple of reasons:
  • It sits on two boundaries, to the rear and the right-hand side as you look at it, and this is why we also need a Building Control application.
  • The existing shed/garage had retrospective planning permission and we're making significant visual changes to that.
As we needed planning anyway, it made sense to maximise the size as much as we could (without annoying the neighbours of course).

Work... Usually
New gadget for the bike. Basically new and half price (as they are damn expensive) but I do have paranoia about my tyre pressures and getting more pinch flats!

I've just had to google what that is for - I ride myself and I'm also a bit on the heavier side at 116kg...

I was expecting some magical tyre saving device but am I right in saying it just bleeps your phone when the pressures drop off  for £230 a wheel

I just top mine up with the floor pump before I head out. 110psi and off I go on my merry *bone shattering* way :D
