desk is 50cm deep so assuming some depth for the monitor stand then it'll be approx 40cm away.
so, what size and resolution screen would you choose?

requirement is for gaming, freesync and/or g-sync, GPU is a GTX1070 (but will be upgraded next year)

thanks both
i'm torn between a 24" 1080p and a 27" 1440p screen.
27" 1440p is more pixel dense so that's good given the distance but i wasn't sure if it would be too wide, sounds like it'll be fine.

I am going from a 1080p 24" screen to a "LG27GN950-B" 27" 4k. It may be (is) overkill though and you didnt specify your price range, she costs £750 Oof :p

Forgot to mention going from 60Hz to 144Hz is probably the more preferable jump if you are a gamer.

Fr0dders posted this video for me in another thread which was helpful

I have two friends that have bought one of these:

(1440p version of the screen im getting:)) and they love it, they said the jump to 1440p was very noticeable. I think im being silly going for 4k at 27" to be honest but I felt impulsive.
