I bought myself an Arctis 3 wired headset yesterday. To be used for a bit of CS:GO, nothing else (maybe conference calls :o )

It sounds pretty good in game, I was hearing background sounds on the maps that I didn't notice before :)p) with my speakers. But the directional sound is plain awful and I think I'm getting confused with what settings to use..

Everyone talks about 'Windows Sonic for Headphones' spatial sound in Win10, yet in the game itself there's these;
  • Audio Output Configuration (Stereo, Quad, 5.1 options)
  • Advanced 3D Audio Processing (Yes/No)
Am I right in thinking the Advanced 3D settings conflict with Windows Sonic? I can't find the right combination.

I was practicing with bots and honestly a bot was coming 90deg to my left and I couldn't tell if it was left or right :confused:

Thanks

There's two things here; Windows spatial sound for headphones and HRTF (3D processing) in CS:GO itself. Do you have both off? :confused:

Do you have virtual surround set in the Arctis 3 drivers?

If yes, disable windows spatial, set CSGO to 5.1/7.1 and disable 3d sound.
