DISM Error 0x800f081f

Hi, i need to repair using the DISM command but I'm getting the dreaded::The Source Files Could Not Be Found.

Ive used the command Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:wim:G:\sources\install.wim:1

Ive tried to repair using a mounted Windows 10 ISO. but I cant find my actual build ISO to download so I cant repair.

My OS build is 19041.572/Installed on 10/7/2020

Does anyone know where I cant get hold of this OS Build?, I've looked but cant find anything for this build. Ive used a few other builds but it needs to be the actual build to repair

Don't think you easily can, as that's 20H2 + a specific patch (KB4579311).

Can you not just run the normal installer and do a reinstall but "keep everything" option?

Ah, thats why its not working because of that specific patch, Theres probably no way I can get a version i need then. Ill have to do a reinstall. such a pain though. cheers

Why not just do an upgrade to 20H2 using the normal windows 10 installer?

That should fix it as it's an over the top install. Should be fine as it's a repair.

I have just done this.. Is there a way to successfully remove the windows.old directory once you have upgraded?

You won't because it writes new files over and does checks.

A bit of advice - create yourself a bootable USB stick with the latest version of windows on it and if you ever need too again you can boot from that memory stick.

Use this tool to write the ISO file you made (or not).
