Mercedes came and rescued me! He plugged the fault finder thing in.

misfire on cylinder 2,3 and 7

he cleared the fault, let it run for a bit and it seemed fine....

I nursed it home and will book it in with MerTrux next week

No idea. It just started running rough, then engine light on.

hopefully it’s just a sensor or coil packs
You’ve only had it a few months as well.. par for the course with something like an E63?
Can’t imagine running something like this without a warranty!

Decided against the EQC in the end.

Positives
Build quality - it's a Mercedes, everything feels more solid and better built (especially compared to a Tesla)
Refinement, road noise is minimal
Looks - subjective, but I think it looks a lot better than most EVs

Negatives
Range - on the face of it ~250 miles should be fine but real world figures suggest this will be <200 in use, especially in the winter.
Interior space - For such a large car, it doesn't actually have all that much space because of the packaging of batteries into a car/platform designed for an ICE.
Weight - you do feel it at 2500kgs.
Price - at £75k with a decent spec. With the pace of change of electric vehicles I wouldn't want to buy something as expensive as this to find in 3 years time that battery technology has moved on and for such an expensive car to be worth very little.
