Hi,
I have just hopefully managed to sell a £700 item on facebook market place.

He has asked for my PayPal details, should I be concerned ?

I mentioned bank transfer but they said they are happy to cover any PayPal fees. My main concern is if they reverse the payment ??

I would give him my PayPal.me address if that is of any help??

Cheers

Edit: it setup as Personal payments and not Goods and Services

Don't even consider it.

You might as well just burn the item.

Cash on collection only for places like FB marketplace and make sure you check the cash as well.

Definitely do not, ever use PayPal. We had a situation recently where we paid (via PayPal) around £1,200 for a service that the other party ended up not delivering. We disputed it and PayPal sided with them.

Get them to do a bank transfer in front of you (should be instant these days) and give them the item once you see the cash in your account.

Cash in hand.

Be sure to take a good look at the cash, a lot of people try it on with forged notes and sometimes hide them between legit stuff.

Facebook MM can be great for a deal but it's dodgy as hell and you need to be careful.

Surely if using Paypal Gift the transaction cannot be reversed? (Or am I wrong?) Can the OP ask for that?

Edit: But yes I would go for 'BT in front of me' as my preferred option too.
