Rhys Williams has done alright really and he has a similar build and gait as VVD, if you close your eyes a little and ignore the ludicrous hair, you can pretend Virgil is there

Lol stood on him twice for good measure

Milner officially handed them over to Mo? Not sure I agree as Milner’s just seem more controlled and deliberate

For a club of our size, we've been lucky not to have Mane or Salah out for a period of time because we don't have goals anywhere else in the team.

2-0, game over but far from convincing.

Edit: Could we try Origi in defence? He clearly isn't a striker so perhaps we've just been playing him out of position.

With lots of changes to the side and players playing out of position it wasn't going to be the most fluid performance but that was still very very meh. We got the win though and it was good to see Jota get a goal again - it's early days but he looks like he could be the real deal for us. Fingers crossed Fabinho's injury isn't too serious but, touch wood, Matip should be available soon and tbf to him Williams looked fairly comfortable when he came on. Williams looked at home in both League Cup games too, although I could play alongside VVD and look comfortable.
