I am running a Strix 3090 oc on 3440 x1440 - it’s freakin’ awesome

I don't know why people bother trying to play an unoptimised minefield of problems game at launch, and no, 1440p UW isn't close to real 4K.

It’s certainly more than close enough without the dip in performance and is playable

You could always flash the bios and see how it does with a 390w power limit? Strix should let you get up to 500w with the right bios (and it’ll use it).

Assuming temps are in check I would expect a gigabyte master or OC bios to get you to above the 2ghz mark simply enough, just don’t use a bios for a 3 plug card on a card with 2 plugs.

I finished the main story of Control over the weekend. With everything maxed out (including RT), the game is a marvel to look at. It truly feels next gen. I was getting 100+ FPS at 1440p with DLSS on. Well worth the upgrade.

Apart from graphics, the story and gameplay are both fantastic. Best single player experience in years for me.

What are peoples card boosting too ? highest i have seen so far or noticed on my Zotac 3090 is 1890 on core while playing Forza Horizon 4.

I have not tried any tweaking just yet.

At default my Asus Strix OC runs mostly at 1860 until it hits 70C then drops to the 1700s
It’s crying out for water

Ha, I've had custom cooling before.

I've just ordered a LIAN LI PC-O11DW Dynamic to try and remedy it

My FE seems to boost to around 1925-1950 but settles in around 1860, temps are good the max i've seen is 61C

Stock cooler? If so, is that with side panels on and just some case fans? Interested to hear how people run their 3090's in their case on stock coolers out the box and what temps they get.

Yes stock cooler, Lian Li 011 dynamic PCMR all panels on, 3x120mm side fans intake, 3x120mm bottom fans intake & 3x120mm top fans exhaust with my cpu aio on.

Delivered today, been waiting since 4pm launch day for a 3080 and got sick of waiting so cancelled it and pounced on one of these when they were in stock.

Just have to fine a way of cramming this in to my 250D mini itx build.
