Bugs and Problems

1.)There seems to be some memory problems with Zen3:

https://www.pcgamer.com/amd-zen-3-i..._source=twitter&utm_campaign=buffer-pcgamertw

AMD has confirmed that hitting 2,000MHz on the Infinity Fabric clock of Ryzen 5000 CPUs may not be as easy as first hoped. In fact you may not have any luck at all, which would mimic our own experience of trying to get a set of Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro DDR4-4000MHz RAM running for our Ryzen 9 5900X review. To be clear the memory worked just fine, but any attempts at running the FCLK above 1,800MHz resulted in misery.

I reached out to AMD to see what was happening, and this was the response:

"We are working on additional optimizations for 1900-2000MHz fabric clocks in our next AGESA release. AMD cannot guarantee any samples, including your own, will be able to hit these speeds. Although some current Ryzen 5000 samples are able to achieve a 1900+ fabric speed we feel confident even more users will be able to obtain these speeds with the forthcoming optimizations. If you recall on the 3000 series many, but not all, users were able to achieve a fabric speed of 1900. We believe this will be a similar situation with 5000 series processors and 2000MHz."

Leaked Ryzen 5 5600X and Ryzen 9 5900X review from YT:

Polish Ryzen 5 5600X review:

Quick first impressions from one OcUK forum member:

Ive also installed a 5600X today and done a few tests.

I was running a Ryzen 3600, 32GB 3200 ballistix and a RTX 3080

i only upgraded to a Ryzen 3600 2 weeks ago so not had chance to compare much.

Ive seen a some maybe 2-5% fps increase in a few games, Horizonal Zero dawn seemed to go up 10% but was already amazing on the Ryzen 3600.

A fully modded Fallout4 with enb, still dipped into the 50'fps when looking in the same direction as the 3600, that was my main test as my late i7 3770K was in the 30's. Buit I think that engine isnt the best.

Benchmarks show a nice 14-19% increase.

So, overall I am happy with that cheap upgrade from the 2nd hand 3600. The increase means im futureproof for a bit.

But for gaming, its not going to be much different at higher resolutions.

Im happy for the price I paid, but for a 30% RRP increase over a current Ryzen 3600 im not sure.

Interesting the images in the 'Early reviews before 2pm NDA'
5800x def seems like a sensible option, given the small margin the 5900x has.

It's only another £100 more, and has 50% more cores, which should extend its lifespan IMHO. Also per core the Ryzen 9 5900X is cheaper, and apparently the fears two CCXes would reduce gaming performance are unfounded.

Close to Swindon, but not Swindon

Yeah, I have been dwelling on that as well. It's just a lot to suck up before Christmas lol.

Edit: 5900x is up by £10 now...

Well if it lasts a bit longer it would work out a bit cheaper longterm?

Havent got that game unfortunately, any other benchmark if you guys want to see. let me know...
Will be running them on modded vega56.

Fair enough! Its just one of the poorer games for Zen+ and Zen2,and I still happen to play it! It seems to be quite latency sensitive! :(

12 cores has 100% more L2+L3 cache ;)

Yes,that too!!
@CAT-THE-FIFTH im 99% sure for 4k gamers on Zen2 zen 3 got nothing.
@4K8KW10 yup and full speed of memory.

It depends if its an older games and MMOs,which can be CPU limited even at 4K(minimums) - but most review sites don't test those! It might be the games where Zen3 might improve noticeably.
