Not all of them, I've had mixed experiences with traffic Police. Some are very nice and very reasonable. Others are absolute gits on a power trip.
I love how you all think that just because the cop stopped and done him for it means he must be guilty... cops are absolute gits.
They will stop someone who they feel has minor inconvenienced or annoyed them (easily done because they all think they are special!) and book them with something just to get their power trip.
Cases getting thrown out because they cant be justified in court happens ALL the time.
Sorry but thats ********, if the car was doing 120mph the distance could have been significant and its impossible to judge speed looking at lights in your mirror.
The cop should not of been doing that speed without his blues on.
It would have been safe to pull into lane 3 had someone not been doing 176 ft per second/53 meters per second. To put that into perspective the police car could have been over 100 meters behind, thats quite some distance to judge speed.

A little strongly worded and exaggerated but there is some truth in there.Keyboard warrior found!
That is only looking at it from one perspective. The skill of said driver at 120MPH is another matter again.

You'd be surprised the speeds needed for that (unless it's a really short tunnel, I know Wales does have some tiny ones), generally it's about 150+ (double their motorway speed and above) you start to fly past and vanish into the distance, 120 they'll just be passing you like a car on a main road to a pedestrian.I was going through a tunnel on a dual carriageway 2 weekends ago I think it was, doing about 75 coming up behind a truck. Checked mirrors and saw blues quite a way behind but didn't pull out. Police car passed me like I was barely moving, wouldn't be surprised if they were doing 120. Surprised me how quick they caught up, so quick that I hardly needed to slow down as they were gone by the time I caught up with the truck infront.
I swear the majority of you ignorantly act like shills for Authority

Poor Observation never let your dad anywhere near the Derestricted sections autobahn’s in Germany.
ergh first you acuse people of being favourable to victim, anti policeIt's not so much that as the obvious bias inherent when you only get the 'victims' story.
then you say people have a more pragmatic approach - confused.com.This happens routinely on forums, it's hardly surprising that people think it's more likely this is a case of someone blindly changing lanes right in front of someone else rather than a copper being so annoyed at a perfectly reasonable mistake that he gives up on a pursuit just to dish out a FPN.
