Hi everyone, it’s been a while since I was last here, I’m looking to build my first pc although I have rebuilt various PCs over the years never had the opportunity to build a new one from the ground up until now, so I’m looking for you advice & opinions. This is primarily for my wife but I will be using it occasionally aswell, at the moment I think it’s main purposes will be 50% gaming (1080 or 1440), 30% Uni work/video chats & 20% light video editing from onboard GoPro motorbiking footage.
I haven’t really got a budget but & also don’t want to spend the a couple grand when a £1000 build like this would be up to the job. I’ve redone this list so many times now I’ve lost count lol, I couldn’t decide whether to go for a Ryzen 5 2600 or 3600 or Ryzen 7 2700 or 3700, I think from what I’ve read the 3600 will be more than up to the job.
I was also looking at a Tomahawk max motherboard which is half the price of the x570 but I’m hoping or atleast thinking it will be better to end up with a system that’s not already totally behind before I’ve already built it & leaves room for future upgrades.
The GPU I’ve chosen the 2060 as I think it’ll do everything I need pretty well & I can’t justify the massive price jump to get a 3070/3080.
I look forward to hearing you thoughts, open to other parts suggestions if there is something better for the money, hoping to get all this ordered today or tomorrow .
Thankyou all!
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 RGB Black Edition 57.3 CFM CPU Cooler
Motherboard: Asus TUF GAMING X570-PLUS (WI-FI) ATX AM4 Motherboard
Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 CL18 Memory
Not sure whether double this up & have 4 lots of 8gb rather than 2.
Storage: PNY XLR8 CS3030 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive
Trying to find a fast nvme for around £100 with this
Video Card: EVGA GeForce RTX 2060 6 GB KO GAMING Video Card
Case: Corsair 275R Airflow ATX Mid Tower Case
Power Supply: EVGA B5 750 W 80+ Bronze Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply
