Having watched the replay I don’t even think it’s harsh. This should have been given by the ref even in previous season. No attempt to move the arm out the way with the ball travelling 5+m is hard to excuse. It’s nothing like the sub 1m penalties given previously.

Handball is handball, if we're not going to use common sense or have any flexibility with players having their shoulder 1mm offside I don't see why they should use any common sense with handballs.

Were you dropped on you head as a kid? No attempt to move the arm out of the way. Are you blind. He turns his whole body away but can't do it in time.

Great start to the half but City finished well on top. They were defending deep to start with but as we got on top they started leaving more players in our half and ended up having far better chances down our left.

Klopp won't change things but Jota hasn't really got in to the game down the right, Firmino isn't in it at all and Gini keeps moving out of position.

100% a penalty btw, intent is no longer a consideration sadly.

The new rules on handball are just retarded, refs etc give it cause they have no choice, when every one pundits included consistently say it's not a penalty but in the rules it is, the rules are clearly broken

Unless as pointed out by carra defenders start running and hold arms behind there back nothing they can do

The defenders aren't putting arm/hand in the way on purpose most of time there just running as normal, strikers/wingers may as well just kick into directly into a players arm and get a pen with way it is atm

With the rules as they are that is 100% a penalty, it's not VAR that's the problem with these penalties given for handball it's the rule that's the problem, as someone mentioned players are going to have to have their arms taped by their sides but then they'd probably give penalties saying that players didn't move their arms out the way.
