Then do it on a secondary account on the same console.

To my knowledge, your Xbox account is linked to your console by selecting a primary console or home console for your profile, so any profile you set up will be linked back to your console's serial number. So even doing it that way might not be safe enough.

We're talking about £90 for three years vs £120 for three years which is nothing when you don't have to think about buying a new game every month. As I said above, the saving of £30 for me isn't worth any risk.

That took a lot longer than I'd hoped, did the whole VPN thing and it kept saying adding to [email protected] (United Kingdom) and I thought it wouldn't take the code unless that changed to Brazil, turns out only the location needed to be Brazil and it accepted it as a UK account.

This Game Pass ultimate even at full price seems like good value for a selection of PC and XBOX games, but a 4k gaming device and 3 years worth of gaming out of the box for just over £500 has me joining the console party again since the Dreamcast.

You need to wait until it expires. Mine expires tomorrow, which is obviously launch day. Weird co-oncidence for me!

Be very careful @tony888

I managed to do this today, BUT, only after an hour + on chat with MS. Basically, the rub of it was that after I applied Live gold to my account via VPN, I couldn't upgrade to ultimate afterwards ( after dropping off vpn and continuing to do the conversion). it kept on saying:

Change your Microsoft Store region
The region in which you bought your subscription and your Store region need to match. If changing your Store region doesn't work, contact us at Microsoft Support.

The chat agent said that there are different types of prepaid codes available in the market so whenever you buy a prepaid subscription code, to make sure to purchase a global subscription code which is accessible in all countries. I eventually got escalated to another specialist, who tried to proces it on his end, no avail. They ended up removing the codes that I added to the acocunt, replacing it with new ones to the same date, and then I upgraded once they've removed and applied new ones.

I was stressing a lot during all of that, and not sure I can recommend it now.

It's not being scared of using a VPN. It's a concern that it's effectively using a code for a region that we're not in, and the possible repercussions from Microsoft. Granted, I've never heard of something happening but I'm not sure I'm willing to risk my 15 year old Live account just to save some money.
I get that. But I do read some comments as if people are a bit put off by a VPN because they don't understand it. Some comments just say "I don't have a VPN" as if it's some kind of hardware or something.

Did you buy a UK 1 month gamepass code for the final step?

I purchased one month to convert all of the Live gold that MS added for me, which converted all of the 36 months to Gamepass Ultimate, yes.

Others that have had that region change issue have been able to fix it by buying a prepaid 1 month ultimate pass from cdkeys or similar. It seems a bit random how it happens on some accounts but your example is a good reminder that it isn't always a smooth process.

How did you buy the 1month ultimate? Xbox app on pc? Website? Console?

I've just done this process, was £100 for 36 months for Xbox Live Gold, then converted to Game Pass Ultimate for £10.99 as already had the £1 off a while back.

Okay, so vpn to Brasil, and buy 3*12 months of x box gold pass
apply those to the account, and then buy a game pass ultimate to convert?

does one remain on the VPN to apply the passes, or not?

Purchase Brazil cards from CD Keys/Electronic First, etc.
VPN set as Brazil, sign in to your normal microsoft account.
Redeem codes...IF you are doing 3 years, DO NOT take up the free month offer each time otherwise you can't add all 3 years.
Sign out and "leave" Brazil VPN.
Convert to Ultimate.

All over the world...
So if I buy 2 of these codes: https://www.cdkeys.com/xbox-live/memberships/12-month-xbox-live-gold-membership-xbox-one-360-brazil

So that works out to £60 but if I get 3 it works out to £89.99. Not sure how people are getting it cheaper??

Anyways then I go onto my Microsoft account on my laptop and go into redeem but making sure my vpn is set to Brazil before doing so. Once I’ve made sure of that then I hit redeem and it should convert it correct?? Then do I need to onto my Xbox console and hit the £1 game pass ultimate offer??

Just need a simple concise step by step instructions please if possible. Thanks

Big exploit available with the EA Play codes. There was a thread on HUKD, but some people can't follow instructions and now the thread is under review

You need the old Xbox app for it to work (i.e. not the latest update). If you're on Android, you can always uninstall the latest version and then grab the old one from somewhere like APKMirror. Roll the date back on your phone by a couple of days. Buy a 12 month EA Play code (£16.85 on ShopTo). Redeem via the app. It will throw up an error, but the code actually does go through, and it gives you 12 months of GPU!

I've just done it. Could only do one though as my current sub was due to end 18/2/2022. It's now 18/2/2023!
