Welp, a month later and it seems like I'm getting my Strix 3090 OC tomorrow! Got delivery notification.

I'll go grab some temporary soft tubing and barbs to bypass the GPU for now until EKWB send out their block for it. I'm pretty excited as running AC Valhalla at ultra on 3440x1440 is an average of around 60fps, with AA on high, it drops to 45 in towns running on an overclocked 2080 ti. So I'm very welcoming of the new GPU.

Gonna be a beast - and after 15 years - warp speed.

Dont forget to use individual PSU power for each of those 3 power plugs on the GPU. Don't daisy chain from one power outlet on the PSU. Hope the build goes smoothly.

Lol, just had an e-mail from "Bolton" that they aren't expecting any more Asus Strix cards in until 4th December and I'm still 104 in the queue (down from 184!).

Each delivery they've had has only seen my queue position fall by 10-20 places, so it's going to be well into 2021 before it arrives.

I secured my pre-order 15 mins after launch o'clock and it's literally going to be 4-5 months before I have the product.

What an absolute joke of a launch. I'm minded to cancel the order out of principle, but I can't see AMD being any better, sadly.

Not happy.

Cancel it and buy another brand, by the time you get it, it will be 6 months into its life cycle and you have missed 6 months of gaming on it. other cards are available looking around.

I know it sounds daft, but I set out to build the best rig money could buy, which is why I ordered the Strixx and have a 5950x on order too (as I can see you do too, @vapor matt), so it would feel like a shame to concede!

Just a quick question for the owners, i got my PNY 3090 today, whipped out my 2080ti and put it in, i cant get Port Royal benchmark to work, should i do a clean driver installation?

I just reinstalled drivers, not clean though. I'm running fine. However, I'm formatting Windows this weekend as I know I can squeeze more out of it.

well i think we are going to wait quite a while for 5950x stock to catch up with pre orders also.
