Hello, i was wondering what results people were seeing temperature wise for their 5600x with either PBO enabled or Disabled across different cooling solutions.

I'm currently using the 280mm Artic liquid freezer(SK140 PHANTEK FANS (Running silent at 990RPM) and my temperatures are :

PBO Disabled:
Idle: 34c Avg
Light load: 45c Avg
Full load: 56c avg

Pbo Enabled:
idle: 40c;
Light load: 60c
Full load: 76c

PC specs:
CPU : AMD 5600x
MOBO: TUF GAMING X570-PLUS (2802 Bios)
Cooler : 280mm Artic Liquid AIO
RAM : CORSAIR VENGEANCE RGB PRO 16GB (2x8) u/3600 (CMW16GX4M2D3600C18)
GPU: GeForce RTX 2060 GAMING Z 6G
PSU : 750w EVGA G2

You really need to get HWINfO64 and see what the power draw is under PBO and none PBO. Under non PBO that CPU will be operating under the TDP (65w) with PBO it will probably be operating close to or over 100w thus the temp difference.

Sounds about right. tho for some reason your cooling solution isn’t doing a very good job.

my AIO is h100i (7-8yr olds one). My cpu chucks out >150w heat (power draw but all that juice get turned into heat anyway). My CPU is pegged at 68c under that thermal performance. You might want to try front mount that AIO or adjust your fan curve a bit.

before I got my 3900x. I tested my cooling is able to handle the heat. Running an all core clock with sensible volts on a1600AF and some heavy avx load, I managed to simulate 130w scenario and made sure my set up can handle it. I think that’s why a lot of people are running into heating issues with CPUs as their setup potentially isn’t efficient at getting rid of heat from cpu.

the SK140 fans are not high static pressure which you want for pushing air through the rad especially one as think as the arctic, that said your temps are perfectly acceptable.

Running Cinebench r20

PBO Disabled - 4ghz

PBO Enabled - 4.6ghz

Scores are :

PBO Disabled : 3692

PBO Enabled : 4209

I currently believe my ram is the reason why i'm seeing lower scores compared to reviewer samples in Cinebench r20. In other benchmarks i'm seeing similar scores (TimeSpy).

Am I right reading that ryzen master saying 31% out of 335w when PBO is enabled?

that’s totally mental! 335W
