Guess it's location and typical commute also ,in my case it's a 30 min commute to Padstow ,50 mph road followed by 60 mph ,gentle gradients ,mixed driving would send me to mid 50s for sure

Yeah totally. Not so great in the winter months.

I can eek 38-40MPG from the X5 on a motorway with light traffic and using some proper eco techniques. The Insight is always averaging 60-70, but can hit 100+ if you're prepared to draft a lorry. Finding a coach moving at around 70mph is even better as you make normal progress with aero efficiency to the max.

Anyway, back to the OP, use the recommended oil grade and buy the cheapest one from ECP/CP4L using a discount code or from eBay and just do regular maintenance checks and drive. Tyre pressures will have more effect than any fancy 'marketing pushed' oil, so if you're going on a longer journey, just pump up pressures 5psi higher than normal and try some hyper miling techniques.
