As for putting their best foot forward, in what situation is say AMD going to be competitive in Borderlands 3 but 30% slower in another game.

4k raytracing perhaps? Not seen official benchmarks of that in every game they go head to head with Nvidia. Hence why people may want information.

You seem to have missed my main point though. Consumers deserve the full picture when paying big money. AMD could have allowed people to make a fully informed choice but aren't. It's an anti-consumer move. I'm sure you can gather a lot between the marketing material and 'leaked' benchmarks (with the potential risk it involves), but more information is better for the consumer, I'm not sure why AMD seem to be scared of that.

It'd be funny if they trolled everyone and didn't put the pages live until 3pm.

That went well, none of the cards showed up on the 6800xt page for 20 minutes, now they are there but "Available soon" and a £80 mark up compared to other places I also couldn't get a card from.
