mate of mine wants to get into pc gaming, hes currently using kbm on xbox haha. hes managed to save up 1k for his gaming pc.

he has monitor/mouse/keyboard / headset.

hes gaming on 1080p.

his only real requests so far have been to be able to run fortnite ultra at 120fps or more and he would love a case with a tempered glass side panel.

i can sort windows out and i'll be building it for him.

any help on specs or what is a good buy right now would be a massive help lads.

thanks a lot.

I'd go with something like this but I'd swap out the 3700x for a 5600x which are £30 cheaper but cant be basketed atm. There's potentially other graphics cards in that price point too but other may be able to better advise

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £1,011.03(includes shipping: £13.20)

That board is garbage even for that price.
This would have superior VRM for lot better upgradability to higher core count CPUs for £70.

No sense to go for old spinning rust for games.
1TB SSDs capable to holding good number of games are below £100.

And with Alpenfohn Brocken Eco Advanced for £20 there's little sense in that Cryorig.

Fair shout on the mobo, I wasn't aware of it's poor vrms and I missed that cooler completely.
With the size of some games I still like a 2tb spinner in my builds but each to their own.
