Best cinematic experience I've ever had watching that.

Good Time (on netflix)

8.5/10. Faast paced Crime/Thriller. Thought Pattinson was excellent as the central character. Makes me think he'll do a pretty good job as Batman.

Yeah this changed my mind about him as Batman too, absolute excellent movie.

@Flik007 sorry, I thought you were someone else. I was chatting with someone on Ucuk discord last night who was watching same film at same time and thought this was them.

I know what you mean about the spoiler comment though, never saw that coming.

8MM. Late 90's look at underground porn industry. Nicholas Cage leads the cast but the support is excellent as well; Gandolfini, Stromare, Phoenix, Keener. Seems somewhat quaint given the internet but the bleak mystery that ties the film together is well done. 7/10

Unhinged - 8/10.

Actually better than I thought. Kind of a cross between Duel, The Hitcher and Roadkill (Candy Cane) but set in suburban America. Russell Crowe genuinely scary as the antagonist. Some pretty intense violence too for a 15 cert.

Moral of story - never sound your horn in retribution or to wake someone up at the traffic lights. Oh and if a cement truck rolls over your car, they’re going to be scooping you up in a jar.

I watched the Parasite. I just came across it while browsing for some interesting movies. It is true horror, and the depiction is awesome. There is a low-income family and a rich family, and two sides of the society are shown. It shows how poor people get new jobs by removing trusted workers from their brains to survive and get good food. I loved it.

I am trying to watch movies that I normally would never even consider. I am not looking at reviews before I watch or even reading the description. All I do is look through the list of movies on Amazon Prime or Disney channel and pick one at random that I have never seen before.

It's been hit and miss to be honest :D

But, the last two nights have been very successful!!

First up on Wednesday night was The Upside. It stars Bryan Cranston, Kevin Hart and Nicole Kidman. Brilliant movie, had me engaged from beginning to end with some touching moments and some laugh out loud moments. All the main characters had a good connection and everyone acted their part brilliantly.

The Upside: 9/10 from me.

Then last night I watched Green Book. It stars Viggo Mortensen and Mahershala Ali. It had a very slow start and I was very nearly going to stop watching and pick something else. But once they start their tour it suddenly becomes this amazing film and it keeps getting better and better as bond between the two main characters grows.

Green Book: 8/10

And both movies are based on true stories which I didn't realise until the end.

Hillbilly Elegy, very good (certainly better than the imdb score suggests), some really good acting from most of the actors and you really felt what they were going through (imo anyhow :D).
They got the casting spot on with some of the characters, i didn't realise it was based on a true story till the credits rolled.

You should watch The Intouchables, which the The Upside is based on. A French movie, with the exact same story but man I can't watch that movie without crying. Every damn time, right in the feels.

Though it's probably best to leave it a while, with them being the exact same story and all. The true story is based on a French pair too.

Why are filmmakers so absurdly bad at making films based on videogames? It's difficult to imagine how you could so completely waste such rich source material. It has a decent cast, and seems like it has a strong budget, but it's utter drekk.

Not even worth the light pollution 1/10.

@melmac thanks for the heads up on that film "The Upside", we watched it last night, what a roller coaster of emotions that film was, perhaps more so as it was based on true events. Each of the characters were very well played by the actors and you are right when you mention how engaging it was. Apparently the story was first made into the a French 2011 film The Intouchables. I think that I vaguely remember that from the cover advertising the film several years back, perhaps we'll seek that one out one day. I agree with your 9/10.
The film "Green Book" that you mentioned we had watched a while back, very contrasting characters, so polarised in every respect, who bonded so very much as the story picked up. 7/10 for me - a little slow for the first half or so, iirc.
