Bit of background; earlier this year my grandfather passed away unexpectedly (rough time during the first lockdown :().

My mum is the executor but lives quite far away and doesn't drive so I've been responsible for checking on the house while it is for sale and going through paperwork and items for family/clearing out. He still had paperwork from applying for jobs in the 60s up to littlewoods receipts from last year so it's been quite a task.

He was an illustrator for the MoD for many years and later in life ran his own art gallery, as such there is a lot of specialist art equipment, most of which neither myself or anyone else in the family has use for. The house is being sold to a property developer who will probably bin anything left over so I've been trying to find homes for everything.

This is the last large item and I'm not really sure what it is; my grandad mentioned that it was used for blowing up prints but I don't know how it works. I've named the first few pictures (google drive folder):

I haven't been able to find anything out about the D. O. Nicoll company on the manufacturer’s plate. If anyone knows anything about the device and who it might be of interest to please let me know. It's massive and heavy, seems like it could be a museum piece with some TLC. The mechanisms move but are stiff.

I've no idea what it is but it's a lovely piece of machinery. Do you not have any room for it as a piece of furniture/ornament and as a memento to your grandfather?

It definitely shouldn't be going to the dump whatever it is.
