This is a picture I drew at school some 40 years ago taken from an Album book (much the same as the War of the Worlds).

The artwork was amazing and I want to listen to the album again, trouble is I have no idea of its name or even the artist only memories of the artwork. I spent 4 hours last night on goggle trying to find it, does anyone recognize the artwork from the picture.

Its all very vague but I have a lot of memories from this time

This was in the middle of the book not the cover.

I don't have an answer for you but I was looking at the zero replies you've had so far and thought that there must be someone on this forum who might be able to help so that's a lot of words to say BUMP.

To be honest that's really impressive that someone knew it, well done @Tuppy_Glossop [because it's not the album cover, it's just part of the booklet]. This is the kind of thing the internet is great with, like when the 4chan /tg/ board helped me identify Tasks of Tantalon which I couldn't remember the name of for the life of me. Great stuff.

The image is by a guy called Patrick Woodroffe from Halifax (local hero where I grew up). It's from 'The Pentateuch of Cosmogony' which is both a concept album and a vinyl art book thing.

Do I win a fiver?

Wow thank you very much, I saw the cover picture loads last night but it didn’t click though, but I knew I was close, went bed at 3.00 am.

So I recognised the art here and would you believe it...

Doing some tidying and found the album and art book! I brought it home while we were sorting through my girlfriend's grandad's record collection.

Brilliant stuff, though the music is distinctly 70s synthy weirdness. Shame I'm getting rid of the record player this weekend...

Surprised you've not seen them!

Only once and it's in my head they supported Rory Gallagher which was an odd pairing because Rory is the blues and Greenslade were more like Yes, ELP & Genesis.
TBH, the 70s was weird for support bands, even in the Punk era you could get the Clash & Stranglers being supported by Reggae bands.

Heh, my mate bought that album on vinyl last week, solely for the art!

What a weird coincidence seeing it here
