Hi Guys,

I have just bought a load of components for a new build. I very recently had a HDD with the OS die on me which i replaced with a 1tb SSD and a new installation of W10.

My question is: can I move my SSD into my new build or will i need to purchase a new windows key?

Also, what would be problems associated with doing this?

Thanks,

Windows seems mostly tiied to the motherboard and whether that remains it not.

Simple way to find out is to build, boot and see what happens... It'll not break, it'll just whine about being not activated.... Which of you already have a valid license you want to transfer then it's a phone call to sort.

Just ring up and do as the robot says for reactivation. you confirm its only installed on one (this current) computer and then there are two ridiculously long codes you need to chuck in to authenticate it
