Hi there

Also this moring I have sourced some grey stock at huge expense but they should land before Christmas and though we lose as much as £100 per CPU on some of these lines Overclockers UK wants to do everything it can to ensure people can get some CPUs before Christmas as such we have the following due to land around 14th December from grey supplier, I shall also include our cost on these items so you can see how much money we lose compared to what you the customer paid:

5950X - 30pc due and our cost £657.44 excluding VAT (£788.93 with VAT)
5900X - 50pc due and our cost £575.17 excluding VAT (£690.20 with VAT)
5800X - 15pc due and our cost £403.14 excluding VAT (£483.77 with VAT)
5600X - 14pc due and our cost £298.43 excluding VAT (£358.12 with VAT)

So when you see companies with stock selling way way beyond MSRP it is not always because they are scalping, it is simply because they had to pay a lot more.

That's an update from Gibbo. So the price will be that plus their profit.

i cant see them losing £100 on a cpu just to ship for customer loyalty. maybe...if its a for whole pc build its worth it. as they make profit by selling the system going with it but a cpu on its own no way in hell will they lose 100 quid per cpu. thats make believe. especially when you seen over the last few releases how much has been added on top just because they have stock.

So what do people think is a good deal on 5600X £360? I've seen a few deals like this. I also seen a good deal for a 5900X for £510 but by the time I plucked up the courage to add to basket it was gone. Just don't want to pay too much way over.

cant believe people are paying £360 for a 6 core chip. its just replaced the 3600. it should be about £200 max. its just cause stock is low and no competition.

Got a bundle elsewhere of a 5600x and x570 Tomahawk for under £500 which is arriving tomorrow. Had a 5800x on pre-order for not much less which I've cancelled. Seemed an ok compromise.

Supply and demand, right now Overclockers, and others are scalpers, take what they can when they can.

It won't last for ever, stock will be available at some point in the new year and the prices will go back to normal. But for those that can't wait, they will pay a heavy price.
