Anyone playing this on PS5? Really want to give it a go, but also tempted to wait (not least as I might build a new gaming PC in the new year).

Yeah I'm on PS5. Had two crashes (I think both times shortly after resuming from standby mode) and I can't get the HDR to look nice so have turned it off, but really enjoying it. I was torn between playing now or waiting for the update. I think if you're the sort of player who gets annoyed by bugs or only plays through things once then maybe wait.

I still don't think they've given any sort of time frame for the update other then some time next year so could be a long wait and the game is really enjoyable if you can look past the rough edges. I'll probably break my usual rule of only playing things once and give it another play through post update.

Really makes AC:Van look an even greater game. 3 hours into 2077 and my mind is fried. Graphics haven't blown me away yet on the series x. But won't discount it just yet. But I can see people buying this and giving up soon after, like that happened with the fallout 4 hype.
Graphics won't blow you away, you are playing an Xbox one/PS4 game.

Everything I've read and watched so far has confirmed that waiting for the PS5 version is the correct choice.

The next gen patch won't fundamentally change the game, it'll just make it look more like the high end PC version.

Look at Spider-Man Remastered, yeah it's better, smoother etc. but it's not that different.

That looks absolutely horrendous and borderline unplayable on previous gen

Makes me think this was part of the reason it was released on previous gen rather than current.

Imagine the sales losses if they'd have released it on PS5 and SX, just due to the sheer lack of consoles on the market? But clearly they are the consoles the game is designed for.

It was designed for Xbox one & Ps4 its just been delayed so much that it’s now into the new consoles. The ambition does not live up to the execution performance wise. Maybe they should have used the unreal engine rather than their own Red engine ?

All these little reports - my copy arrived 10 minutes ago. I've got plenty of games to play - think I'll wait for the PS5 version.
I know that is probably 6 months away, but I'm not so desperate to play the game after all the reviews etc.

Played a couple of hours last night and only real bugs i got was a small freeze during the car ride (just stuck for a few seconds then came back fine) and on leaving my apartment there was someone floating above the stairs which made me laugh. IF i have pathing issues in an escort or follow quest im sure it will be less funny.

Aiming is a bit weird not sure why but it seems to snap abit then not, not sure if that is the RPG mechanics or aim assist settings or what but will look into it.

Im sure it will be fine and patched up plenty in the coming months but so far for me its hardly an unplayable mess like some people are saying.

Robbin everything in sight is giving me witcher vibes though, my least favourite thing in witcher was stripping a village bare before asking them for my money and selling them back their junk. though the economy in witcher requires it and im getting feelings this is going to be the same.

It's definitely not unplayable. For me though the immersion-breaking glitches are spoiling the experience enough that I'm happier to just put it down for a while and play some other games, and enjoy it more later when it's not glitching out on me.

There are 2 different version naming conventions 1.2 in the latest PlayStation version and 1.0.0.6 is the latest Xbox version.

Xbox actually shows both version numbers.

The version is 1.02 at the bottom of the main menu in game & 1.0.0.6 when looking at where the game is stored. I think that is why people are getting confused.
