Really hoping that the power limits will be unlocked in the 6900 XT and we see some crazy clocks and boosts to perf (instead of it being continuously reigned in by power limit)

You mean on the custom 6900 XT models? because on the reference model I can already tell you that the GPU power limit is the same as for the 6800 XT reference, 255W by default.

Some 6900XT clock speeds have come in from Asus, XFX, Asrock, Powercolor and Gigabyte:

Asus Strix LC: OC Mode: Not yet listed Gaming mode : up to 2365 MHz (Boost Clock)/ 2135 MHz (Game Clock) - 5mhz quicker than the Asus Strix LC 6800XT
Asus TUF: OC Mode : up to 2340 MHz (Boost Clock)/ 2105 MHz (Game Clock). Gaming mode : up to 2310 MHz (Boost Clock)/ 2075 MHz (Game Clock)
XFX Merc: 2340 MHz (Boost Clock). 2105 MHz (Game Clock)
Asrock Taichi: 2340 MHz (Boost Clock). 2105 MHz (Game Clock)
Powercolor Red Devil: 2340MHz(Boost). 2105MHz(Game Clock)
Gigabyte Auros Master: TBC
Sapphire Nitro+ OC: TBC.

Sapphire have set the 6900XT Nitro+ clocks as follows: 2285 MHz (Boost) 2050 MHz (Game Clock) maybe there will be an OC version later. Just Gigabyte left. They might wait until CES.

I'm just curious as to why the 6900xt's are locked to the same power limit as the 6800xt, I'm sure there's more performance to be had if they unlock the cards

AMD doing weird things, maybe they have a 6950XT or something else coming with higher power limit

Managed to get my hands on a 6900xt red devil, which is on its way, but realised it needs a 900w psu after buying........ Anybody know of any data on this and if I should just go ahead and buy a 1000w psu while I'm at it?
