It's a beautiful threesome :D

I'm so torn myself. I want to see some numbers before I drop on a 3080. But in reality I know it will be expensive and not that much quicker than a 3080. But I still don't want to regret it lol.

It will be at least twice as fast so yes a very decent upgrade for 3x the price. Unless you just enjoy spending more then get the FE unless you're going for the cheapest ASUS model not Strix but even then the difference in price is huge the difference in performance typically less than 5%.

I mean all the ti cards have been good pickups, really even the 2080 ti was a good pickup if you got it at mrsp early on as you got multiple years of top dog gaming, atm the 3060 ti is the best value for money card and it is under £400 and the 3080 at £650 is a great pickup as well the problem is the mrsp being hard to get.

I myself got bored of looking at the 3080 at £1k+ after trying for months to get it so just picked up a 3090 fe as i wont need another card for 3-4 years and it performs like the monster it is.

2080 Ti and 1080 Ti were a decent jump over the regular 2080/1080, this 3080 Ti will not be nearly as significant with the 3090 in the way. Probably talking about another 5 FPS over the normal 3080 most likely..

Difference between the 3080 and 3090 is about 15 FPS at absolute max and mostly less than 10 as it is in most benchmarks I've seen. So really how much better can it be...? Seems like the 3090 shoulda been the 3080 Ti.

I would think that’s dependent on the situation. I’ve seen benchmarks at 4K that indicate it’s often at least double, and then some...

The difference is largest at 4K, yes, but overall it's still not quite double the performance
