Couriers

I'm looking at shipping a monitor from Manchester, to Loughborough.
Its in its original box so should be semi-okay, but who here has used a courier that they trust with this sort of thing?

Pre-Rona, I would have driven there and back but you tend to get frowned upon traveling around places..

I use dpd local however they have size and weight limits so best check before

They also have monitors on their prohibited items list...

Only prohibited if they have a screen size larger than 37", below that and it's fine.

Is there anything you're actually allowed to send looking at that list?! They've even banned Clothing/Shoes and Posters?

I’ve sent a few through dpd local and never had a issue but I always cover them in black plastic bags.

What did you declare the contents were?

And yet if you try and book a delivery stating the parcel contents as "computer monitor" you get a prohibited item alert. You have to confirm "I have read and agree to the prohibited & restricted items list", the same list I linked earlier.

If its on the restricted items list then I guess insurance isn't an option?

I don't fact them chucking a monitor around and breaking the bloody thing..

I put it down as a display. Like I said before I’ve never had them break any of mine and delivery has been flawless.

There are size restrictions, e.g. 60x60x60cm for a large parcel, 65x65x65cm for XL and 70x70x70cm for XXL.
