Ex-Tory Chancellor Gideon Osborne jumps ship from the failing Evening Standard (£650k pa for "working" one day a week) and Blackrock to join yet another financial institution.

Meanwhile, Sajid Javid, yet another Tory ex-Chancellor has joined the investment bank JP Morgan (LINK)

All jobs for the boys in the "Make Britain Grate again" Tory party

To be fair they've done a cackhanded job with the lockdowns but the vaccine rollout is rather impressive.

What's the point of this thread again?

the nhs handled the rollout not the gov, strange how something just works when it’s not a private company, and an institution that’s been in place years.........in short, when you remove tory private companies, the work gets done at cost in a fast time.........vaccine roll out vs track trace, or reacting fast enough to scientific advice or shipping companies without boats.........only vaccine roll out is working because no torys....

Let's not pretend this is just a Tory problem...

That’s nothing compared to what Tony Blair gets for a few after dinner speeches.

The gravy train is for all, not just tories, so don’t pretend they’re the only culprits.

Blair charged £330k for a 20 minute speech at a world hunger event ffs!

really looking forward to your thread on what a great job they are doing with the vaccine rollout

They have done a great job with our total death count. One of the highest in the world given our population size.

The vaccine at this point is too little too late. Bear in mind that death count is still ridiculously high with over 1k deaths daily.

They also did a great job of quarantining arrivals and closing the border so the variant that's better against the vaccines didn't spread like wildfire... Oh wait.

Whilst what you say is true and the Tories have been very slow on many counts and have given out many mixed messages, the death toll cant all be laid at their feet. It also requires the population to do as they are told and we know that this hasn't been the case

Which is less likely to happen if no body has any faith or respect in our 'leaders', blunder after blunder after blunder.........especially cummings driving hundreds of a miles apparently to test his eyes is absolutely laughable they even tried to use that as an excuse......add to that track and trace and wasting millions it's little wonder people haven't listened.

For leadership to work you need to do a good job to earn respect, they haven't.

We all know it's factually true we should stay home, I'm highly scientific and agree........but people operate on emotions and not what's best for them (see the brexit disaster and last general election for that evidence)......and the torys are a laughing stock, the endless blunders and lack of leadership leads to people to think well **** you boris, you can't even control ur own cabinet to follow the rules.

Can you imagine the fiasco if Corbyn had won the election with his front bench running this Pandemic? I'm not a Tory but, out of the two bumbling idiots we could choose from, I know which I'd prefer to be in charge.

I don't for a minute think people don't do as they should because of lack of respect of our "leaders", they mostly seem to do it because they don't believe in it or don't think anyone should tell them what to do.

And lets pause for a moment and imagine what the Corbyn government would have done in the same situation, do you remember the clowns front and centre for them?

Most previous cabinet ministers get a job after leaving politics. It's not surprising that an ex-chancellor gets a job at a bank. I don't see the point of this thread except to bash the tories.
