Thanks for posting this, I have downloaded the latest but still causes issue, unsure if its my ryzen 3700X or 6800 or drivers (most likely from what I have read). I thought I was going mad as my machine would reboot after sleep and I had no idea why, I tested machine for a week no reboots, tried HWinfo (latest one), went to make a tea, came back and it had rebooted. Very odd but no real problem as I have had my fill of watching numbers :) shouldn't have tested whilst working though. luckily was working on a ubuntu box via ssh (VSCode is so good) so nothing lost.
not had a single crash after using the latest hwinfo beta so this resolved my issue, im also now using gen 4 pci and re size bar too, are you running any kind of oc?

No Nothing other than PBO but nothing on the 6800 however it used to happen on my old Vega 56, I do have DOCP at 3600Mhz but I am running 8Pack Samsung Bdie. I am on X470 with PCIE 3 and I really have no issues at all other than HWInfo causing fatal crash if left running when it goes to sleep. I did read a similar issue with nvidia drivers and hwinfo devs blame nvidia as they were only using the exposed nvidia api. Like I said its more of a relief knowing what is causing it. I will move to x570 at somepoint for PCIE4 and the extra lanes so that I can run 2 nvme drives at high speed but that can wait a fair few months as I want a 5900X at the same time. struggling to have enough gaming time between this rig and PS5 such good hardware in both :)

EDIT - seems it wasnt the beta I downloaded but latest stable, might try the latest sometime but at the moment at least I know what is causing it.

Does anyone have any advise on how to get frame rate target control working? I have it set to 117 (for VRR support with my tv/monitor) but games just seem to ignore it and run at whatever frame rate they want to.

Finally got it in the PC because some doofus (who I may or may not be acquainted with) forgot they didn't have an appropriate cable to connect it their monitor. :)

Any thoughts on the Gigabyte Gaming OC vs the Msi Gaming X Trio.

Looks like a 5 FPS difference on the only benchmarks I can find for £100 difference.

Ive been away from pcs for along time so not sure who builds a better card.

Thanks

Hmmmmm, what's the difference between DLSS on the Nvidia cards and Trixx on the AMD Sapphire cards? As far as I can see it does the same, I tried it on Assasins Creed Odyssey at 3440x1440 and then again at the lower Trixx created resolution upscaled with image sharpening on & I can't see any graphical difference apart from the 20%ish higher frame rate?

Sapphire RX 6800 nitro OC , awesome upgrade over the Vega 56 , Metro Exodus 1440p Extreme settings looks awesome and plays smooth , it even plays Crysis maxed out for the first time.

Been having a play with overclocking my nitro+ 6800 this morning. I am at 2500mhz and mem at 2150mhz . With fast timing and +10 power . All at 1 volt and my hot spot is 67 deg . If it is this easy why only a 10% power slider and no+ voltage on the slider either ??

:::Edit :::Its holding 2550mhz with the target all the way at 2600 mhz all still at one volt and the hot spot is still only 71 deg!

Just like to add the caveat i am only using heavan 4.0 as the benchmark at the moment . As this is just an early morning fiddle lol
Also would like to ask. What should i be using to properly test my GPU overclock. Not furmark thought it damaged the memory on an rx 480 years ago!

Never use heaven for anything tbh it's just useless. Go load up port royal, or better yet Control.

The Unigine benches are useless for testing stability unfortunately. Such little load placed on the GPU, they are outdated now.

Try Timespy Extreme, custom run, GPU test 2 and put it on loop. If you can pass 20 consecutive runs of that without hitting your power limit where GPU clocks/voltage throttle, you're what i call stable. TimeSpy Extreme GPU test 2 beats them all and defecates all over Port Royal. ;)

I've seen this pull over 400W on my 6900 XT. @JediFragger got up to 446W on his Liquid 6900 XT. Lol. :D

**Warning, not for the faint hearted. Run at your own risk if you extend power limits using MPT.**

Thanks. I will try Timespy . BTW. i will not be trying to kill my card so will be sticking with the 10% power that is offered in the radeon software at the moment . I just don't like free performance left sitting on the floor.:D
