The Radeon RX 6900/6950 XT Owners Thread.

I'm going to start mining cryptocurrencies and I wonder if this xfx radeon rx 6900 xt graphics card works. I have read various opinions on the internet about it, and I have mixed feelings.

You'll probably get about 60-65 MH/s, so about £5/day, if you tune your overclocking reasonably, without going to extremes.

well got my 6900xt back up and running, must have been a driver error last time, still getting horendous fps in destiny 2 at any resolution on certian destinations (tangled shore and dreaming city) when i go here i can see my card goes into power save mode and the clocks drop back to around 1500mhz and power draw at best is 115w which nets me 42 fps, when i go to europa the core clock jumps back to 2500mhz+ and power usage goes all the way upto 293w and fps at 4k goes upto 144fps (with a avergae of 127).

i have tested a load more games on my end and the 6900xt is working as intended boosting up and using all the power avalible to the card, i'm keeping a close eye on destiny come the new season this tuesday and if i still have sporadic fps issues i may take out the card and use my rtx 3090 and put up the 6900xt for sale here, i dont want to but destiny 2 is pretty much my main game i play atm

Glad you got that card Working again all is well that ends well, apart from Destiny 2 it seems.
I don’t have that game so can’t offer any suggestions unfortunately but hopefully another owner might be familiar with it.

Division 2 and The Isle has given the most whine so far, frame rates are under control and less than 150 so its not that.

It should decrease over time as the GPU beds in, that's been my experience with coil whine when previous GPUs have had it.

Try leaving it running a game or benchmark application that causes it to whine really bad overnight, or for as long as possible. That usually expedites the process.

I don't know if you have the paid version of 3DMark, but if you do try running the Night Raid GPU test 2 on a custom repeating loop.

That test makes every GPU i own squeal due to the 1000+FPS. Leave that running overnight, assuming you don't sleep next to your PC Lol.

Seen a few 3090's for sale now in the MM recently and all were replaced with 6900 XTs, it's good to see AMD back at the high end.

Cheers for the reply, yes mine has been rock solid in gaming, I've just noticed it's been a bit crashy in Windows desktop. Maybe it would benefit from a format
